MAY 18, PRECISION CONCRETE MULLIGAN DAY $2500. TO WIN S/P $500. to win SEMI
ELLIOT LAKE TOUR DATES CONFIRMED JULY 18-19-20

MAY 17-18 NOW A TWO DAY WEEKEND RACE

DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND COMING UP, CRUISE NIGHT SATURDAY NIGHT: MAY 11/08
Well lets hope mother nature gives us a fighting chance this weekend to get our season under way, and under way we will with a two day big go with racing both Saturday and Sunday and a cruise night Saturday Night. And if last weekends cruise is any example look out, as almost 400 street cars invaded the track on May 10 for the first cruise night of the season and normally the Tapp Auto Cruise is one of the biggest so watch out this Saturday Night. Of course for the Super, Semi and Jrs there is two days of racing with a full schedule Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday being the 2nd. Annual Precision Concrete Mulligan Shootout with the winner going home with $2500. pretty good price money for a $50. dollar entree fee. Semi Pro will run for $500 to win NO MATTER how many cars are present and more if we hit 24 cars or more, once again proving that Luskville Dragway has the best payouts anywhere in the land. Saturday will see at the minimum regular day purse's with $400 to win semi pro and $1000. to win Super Pro although work is on going with a few advertisers to enhance that payout also with NO INCREASE in entree fee's. It should be a wild weekend with a number of out of town cars set to invade as well, including some Northern Cars who where at Luskville Dragway this past weekend for a test and tune two day extravaganza. So now everything is left to Mother Nature which is the case every time we open the gates see you there.
TAPP AUTO CONTINUES HIS STRONG SUPPORT OF LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY: MAY 11/08
Chris Tapp is considered thee guru when it come to making cars go fast and in particular making sport compact cars go fast something he has been able to do at ease it seems. He holds both ends of the Luskville Dragway Sport Compact records both for mile and hour and ET. Tapp Auto is where he does his work out of and as you can imagine it is a very, very busy place especially around this time of year as everyone is getting ready for spring and the racing season. And something else Chris Tapp has always done also is support Luskville Dragway with his advertising dollars, and that will happen again this year as Tapp Auto will once again present not one but two cruise nights at the Dragway in Luskville Quebec. The first Tapp Auto Cruise Night is just around the corner and will now be part of a big two day weekend May 17-18. Yes this has always been a big cruise and if the weather man cooperates it is probably going to be HUGE this season as there has not been a lot of racing yet thanks to the weather man.
BITS FROM THE PITS: MAY 9/08
*
Well it looks like the weather man is going to cooperate this weekend and expectations are we will see lots of cars out testing and lots of street cars out for the first cruise night of the year. We know that some North cars are coming to test and we remind everyone that the track will be sprayed.
*Just a reminder that the long weekend has now turned into a big weekend with racing both Saturday and Sunday with Sunday's Super and Semi Pro class's running for big dollars in the second annual Precision Concrete Mulligan Sunday. Tapp Auto Cruise night will take place on Saturday Night which in the past has always been huge. The weather man has not always been great to us on this weekend but lets hope this time is different and we can really make it like the old 2-4 weekend.
*After all the banter this past winter over Trans Brake in Semi or not that everyone would be interested in the latest new release from Grand Bend Dragway.
We also added a non points “Footbrake” race class on many of our weekends which allows racers in our Top, Mod and Street classes the opportunity to double enter into a fun, old fashioned race class,

BILL OSBORNE CHEVROLET THE OFFICIAL GM DEALERSHIP OF LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY : MAY 9/08
When Bill Osborne took over what was formerly called Mel Johnston Chev Olds in Kemptville, Ontario, we in the Motorsports advertising business weren't sure what would happen with this small town Ontario's Chevrolet Dealerships involvement with tracks and Motorsports in this area. You see Mel Johnston had been an avid supporter of the drag racers of this area and Luskville Dragway, in the many years he had owned the dealership. Well as we all found out last year not only did Bill, and the newly named Bill Osborne Chevrolet continue to support Motorsports in this area but has increased his involvement with Luskville Dragway and Motorsports in General in this area. New owner Bill Osborne not only continued with the former advertising participation, but increased it with Luskville Dragway to being the official GM Dealership of Luskville Dragway. Bill Osborne will also continue to
support the annual cruise night that is held each year on the Long weekend in Sept, as part of the Mr. Transmission Fall Bracket Finals, with that cruise being presented on Saturday Aug 30/2008. Bill has continued to make many of the drivers happy with great deals on new and used cars and trucks, including all of ADM Motorsports, Carl Jessup, Randy Urslak and Charlie Price just to name a few. The continued support of this advertiser and any of the advertisers is crucial on the support we show them, so the next time your thinking about a new or used car or truck give the folks at Bill Osborne Chevrolet a call, you wont be disappointed.

BITS FROM THE PITS: MAY 2/08

Once again Mother Nature won the battle and racing had to be cancelled for Luskville Dragway's opening day 2008, it is very disappointing that this has to happen  but we all know that we are going to get rained on at some point. So what has been decided is that we will now run a double header on the May long weekend, giving everyone a chance to pick up the race we lost on opening day. Of course the Sunday portion of the race is already shaping up to be BIG as it is the Precision Concrete Finishing Mulligan Sunday with a $2500. to win Super Pro Purse and a $500. to win Semi Pro Purse. So now we are out looking for extra advertising support in an effort to make Saturdays Purse even bigger than a regular day show, but we will be running both Saturday and Sunday. We will also honor the Opening Day pass's that where handed out for the Saturday portion of the weekend.
SNAP ON TOOLS RETURNS WITH VENGEANCE IN 2008: MAY 2/08
As they have for the past 10 years, Snap On Tools this countries leading Automotive Tool Supplier will use Luskville Dragway as a major marketing partner. Snap On which is synonymous with racing will carry title rights to July 12-13 Snap On Tools Super Weekend of Drag Racing. They will also carry title rights to  the Friday Night Street Shoot Out at Shannonville Motorsports Park portion of the Benson Auto Parts Tour Sept 12-13-14. Snap On Tools is quite visible at all NHRA Drag Racing events in the US and is very significant that they have once again chosen Luskville Dragway as their marketing tool again this season. The Snap On events going back to the very beginning 10 years ago started a trend of breaking attendance records every summer, and with all the enthusiasm going around this season that possibility is quite viable again in 2008. The Snap On Tools trucks are part of our city's landscape as if you are traveling in this area you would be hard pressed to not see one, again showing the strength of this major cooperation. And again it is taking our track to another level in the advertising department as we align ourselves with Snap On Tools, making them the exclusive Automotive Tool Company at Luskville Dragway. We also know that many of the drivers that own their own Automotive business's are also staunch Snap On Tools supporters and that two is very significant for this alignment, as quite obviously this is a company that see's the term "Support Those That Support Us" very clearly. The Snap On Tools Super Weekend will be a two day event which will also include the AutoXtrem Street Car Shootout", the Apple Auto Glass Cruise Night, as well as all the action in the regular programs that take place each and every weekend at Luskville Dragway. There will of course be a special booked in show, which this year will feature the Ohio based Super Charged Warriors Pro Mod Circuit.

STITTSVILLE TRAILER SALES BECOMES OUR NEWEST MARKETING PARTNER: MAY 02/08
Orville Hartwick the owner of Stittsville Trailer sales is with out question one of the strongest supporters of Motorsports in the Ottawa area, with his own personal love being the world of stock car racing. In fact Orville son Trevor is one of the top running Thunder Car drivers at the speedway. Orville's tremendous support has been shown to us over the past three years of us operating Capital City Speedway as he has been a staunch supporter of the speedway with his advertising dollars. Even through a devastating fire in the fall of 2006 which destroyed their business Orville never missed a beat with his support both financially and morally. Yes Orville Hartwick is quite a amazing person and he runs a very amazing business as it is a constant hustle if you ever happen to drop in which we certainly hope you do, as Stittsville Trailer Sales has become the latest NEW advertiser to Luskville Dragway. Orville says he has seen the great support that has been coming from the stock car drivers because and feels that he can do great things for the Drag Racing community as well. The new shop in Stittsville is a much larger venue but still offers that family friendly atmosphere when you arrive to have work done on your trailer or pull vehicle or to purchase a new trailer. Stittsville Trailer sales carry a large selection of enclosed and open trailers, as well as all of the Haulmark Race Trailers line. So remember racers, crew members and spectators support those who support our sport and our track.
FULL THROTTLE REPLACING POWERADE AS NHRA SPONSOR: MAY 2/08
In the world of heads-up professional drag racing, perhaps nothing exemplifies the dog-eat-dog nature of the sport better than words, “Go Full Throttle or Go Home!” Beginning in 2009, that’s exactly how NHRA’s top professional series will be branded, as Coca-Cola North America’s Full Throttle energy drink succeeds PowerAde as the title sponsor of NHRA’s premier professional drag racing series.  It’s the first major sports marketing play for the beverage Company’s lead energy drink.
The association between NHRA and Coca-Cola North America, with support from Coca-Cola Enterprises, includes a two-year partnership extension through the 2013 season, representing one of the longest running series sponsorships in Motorsports. The new series will be called the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series.
“It’s one of the great synergies of brand and sport,” said NHRA President Tom Compton, who orchestrated the original deal with Coca-Cola North America in 2001.  “To have a title sponsor for what will be, at minimum, 12 years by the end of this current deal is a tribute to a great relationship between NHRA and Coca-Cola North America, Coca-Cola Enterprises, the PowerAde brand and beginning in 2009, the Full Throttle brand.” NHRA’s top professional series, the second most popular form of auto racing in America behind only NASCAR (source: ESPN Sports Poll), holds 24 races from February through November, all of which are broadcast by ESPN2 in HD. “When you fuse the energy of Full Throttle with the speed and intensity of NHRA professional drag racing, you’ve got a combination that’s hard to beat,” said Rafael Acevedo, senior brand manager, Energy Drinks, Coca-Cola North America.  “We mean it when we say, ‘Go Full Throttle or Go Home.’  We can’t wait to unleash the power of Full Throttle and cement the relationship between NHRA drag racing, NHRA fans and the ultimate energy drink.” Full Throttle has been the official energy drink of NHRA since 2005 and currently sponsors the Full Throttle Pit Crew Championship, which awarded prize money in excess of $250,000 in 2007.  Fully integrated marketing plans for Full Throttle and NHRA will include at-track activation, out-of-home media support, online presence, retail programs and sampling.
