First Super Tour in the books and now its back to Luskville Dragway and AMR Spring Jam, which will also see the running of the rained out Malcolm Carpentry Day, which will go on Sunday. We want to thank Francois Roberge for making this race possible and also being part of the program as well. Track will be open on Friday for parking, there will not be any time trials on Friday night.

*The first super tour race of the season is now in the books and with what was expected to be a great turnout, turned out to be the typical start to the season with the numbers in all classes being almost identical to one year ago at I-Car. We wont lie and make it very clear that we where expecting a bigger turnout out than this, realizing that many are not ready yet, so hopes are that July 1 will see us get to the car counts we have hoped for all winter.

*Speaking of turnouts, we wont lie about this either, we have not seen the cruise night car counts that we have in the past, and this is after investing a lot of money in making Luskville Dragway a much better place for everyone. Our track like any other needs your support to keep it going, and in our case we have more improvements planned as of right now.

*Saturday saw a nasty crash at Napierville as a new top sportsman car and driver where out for the first time to do some testing, and it did not go well. Looks like lower rad hose came off and wet the tires putt the Camaro on its roof and setting it on fire. Driver was fine, and after a lengthy clean up it was back to racing action. The Camaro which is a former southern Ontario top sportsman car was pretty beat up and look like a expensive pass.

*The donations to the Brian Ackers JR. Dragster Quick Draw Award are still rolling in we now have enough to cover all of 2023 and have started to work on 2024. We will keep Brains project alive and well, thank you the latest donators, Trevor and Katie Tandy, all of those that have are listed on the Jr. Dragster points page. We are also going to have a memorial decal design and printed of Brian and will be selling them with all the proceeds going to the Quick Draw fund.

*We are a little short on Pictures but will catch up with some when John gets them posted,
SUPER TOUR RACE ONE IN THE BOOKS WITH SOME NEW WINNERS: MAY 29/23
So our first Super Tour race was a little different this time around as we tried to kick start the season in Montreal at Napierville Dragway for a change. Weather forecast could not have been better for the event as Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday was wall to wall sunshine, which is what every promoter dreams of. So at 9 am along with Pam and Dave Rennie we set out what turned out to be a very smooth run to Napierville Dragway. That was not the case for Chris and Gerald Dennique who had the misfortune of having the Back drives side wheels fall off their motorhome, luckily no one was hurt. Chris was not the only Luskville Driver to have trouble as Terry Miron right around the same place as Chris (Herbs Truck Stop) had the fan motor explode and set his coach on fire, luckily here as well, they got the fire out and everyone was fine. However as the pits started to fill, time trials started for the Friday night gamblers race around 4:15  with the finals going at about 7;30, and the super pro winner was Adam Bitzanis over Jerome Lachance from Quebec City. Semi Pro saw another Quebec City Racer do very well as Martin Lassiseraye took the win back to the eastern part of the province. By now the pits where pretty full with more expected in the morning things where looking good for the first super tour race of the season. Saturday morning dawned bright and warm and the pits where jammed to the rafters and it was looking like a great day of racing. And a great day of racing it was for many with eliminations running well into the late afternoon, evening. Around 8 pm things got wrapped up with Phil Harvey taking on Andrew Stirk in the finals for the $5000. with the Dragster of Harvey taking the win and the points lead on day one.  Semi Pro was two veterans as Eric Corriveau and Mike Reynolds met for all the marbles and the big check, Corriveau would take the first win of the season on the Tour. Jr. Dragster saw Luskville Dragway's Katie Adams march her way to the winners circle defeating Carl Burnets son Oliver in the finals. The Super Pro Gamblers race was won by Trevor Monagham over Brock Godmaire in Super Pro.
DAY THREE, and the  last day of the first Super Tour race and once again the sun was out in full force, the down side was a number of drivers had left, or had car issues and left on Saturday Night making for a smaller field than the Saturday race. But the racing on Sunday was stellar and went along very well with no delays and wrapped up at 5pm on Sunday afternoon. Jr. Dragsters was dominated by Shelbie Sequin who took her first win of the season in the finals of this class, giving Luskville Jrs. wins both days. Semi Pro boiled down to Jean Guy Bedard and Darryl Jensen who was with out his regular pit crew and had Tim Fearrey sitting in for Joan and Gabe. The change of crew did stop Darryl from going all the way to the finals and too the winners circle for his first ever BIG dollar win, winners circle pic was a BIG crowd. Super Pro was truly a great story once again for Luskville Regulars as Landyn Urslak on the dragster side and Roch Beaudion on the door car side met for the $5000. winners purse. Rock was slightly better on the tree and that was the margin of victory at the finish line. Here to a very popular win with a large contingent joining Roch and Nancy in the winners circle. Please bare with us for the points as it will take a while to sort them out as this race was not run on our ladder system, which I think you all are aware of.
JORDAN MANUFACTURING CONTINUES ITS STRONG SUPPORT OF LUSKVILLE :MAY 29/23
Scott Wilson the owner of Jordan Manufacturing is one of a few drag racers who looks forward to winter, and lots of snow so too speak. You see Scott who has owned a number of drag cars over the years and will return in the dragster wars in 2023, is in the snow plow building business in a big way you might say. Scott builds not just your ordinary snow blows, but BIG snow plows that are used by contractors and cities all over the country. So Jordan Manufacturing which will be located in their new building in Bristol, Quebec loves to see lots of snow, even though it means Scott wont be going drag racing as long as its on the ground.  Luskville Dragway, Wilson's home track and a place he has been going since he was a kid, is right next door to Bristol Quebec and once again this year will be supported by Jordan Manufacturing. Scott will be the first one to tell you that he is well aware that any racetrack needs much more than just the revenue that comes through the gate in order to survive and improve. And Scott will back those thoughts up with his support once again this season. There is no question that Luskville Dragway is very grateful for Scott's advertising support, his race car support as well as his verbal support when ever he gets the chance. I think it safe to say that everyone is anxious for Scott and Jacob to return to competition at Luskville Dragway. Update, Scott has sold his semi pro mustang, and has completed his new shop in Bristol, Quebec, this in itself was a HUGE project, but does now hope to get out and do some racing in the dragster he purchased a year back.

With the rain out on Saturday, it makes three already this season which is the average we have in a year so lets hope the rain outs are over. Yes for 43 years I have been keeping track of the weather at Luskville Dragway and we normally average 3 rain outs a season. We can not count the first weekend as we cancelled early something we typically don't do, but the weather man told us there was no chance, and they were wrong. So i guess officially its two rain outs and a screw up on my part as that Saturday it was suppose to rain according to the weather man IT DID NOT.

*After a number of years of absence it was great to have Ashley Muttart back at the race track with his slick little Chevy II. Ashley is a very good driver with a good race car and should give some people night mares this summer with his return. The Little Blue Coupe comes out of North Bay Ontario and will join many others who travel from the North to race at Luskville Dragway.

*Congratulations to Parker Sequin for winning the Brian Ackers Quick Draw award and the $50.00 that went with it. And Congrats to Cole Krottner who won the Dan Allard $50. for the best reaction time in the second round. Both of the boys got put on the trailer by the girls when it wound down in Eliminations but both were pretty happy with their first weekend out. Speaking of first weekend out, congrats to the Gagnon Twins who made their debut with their new Jrs. looking good lads and once you get some more seat time you will be able to take on the veterans in the jr. class.
MALCOLM CARPENTRY OPENING WEEKEND REPORT CARD: MAY 22/23
We wait all winter for the next seasons opening day, we cross our fingers and hope for the best weather wise, and we hope for the best with turnout of race cars and those that support Luskville Dragway. And the spring of 2023 was no different as we waited for another racing season to start. Friday dawned with lots of sunshine and a great turnout of race cars. Testing started at 4 pm and most everyone on the grounds took part including the new rides for Russ Adams and Roch Beaudion. Testing was followed by a gamblers race which Pam Rennie turned on the win light in the final round over Russ Adams in his beautiful new Diamond Dragster. The weather man in always right when you don't want him to be, and the forecast of rain for Saturday came true and racing was postponed, bench racing took front and center. So with the Saturday rained out the Mulligan race was moved to Sunday and the Sunday Malcolm Carpentry race was moved to the Sunday of the AMR weekend.
Sunday racing was met with not total sunshine but as good as it was going to get, and the racing got very good as the cool temperatures and the very sticky track made for some very quick numbers. Jr. Dragsters could not have worked out better if Hollywood at written the script. Julia Malcolm was in her first race with her brand new dragster and it just happened to be her Dads weekend, "Malcolm Carpentry" and Julia did not let here dad down as she won her first EVER race. Julia met and defeated close friend Kate Adams (Russ's Daughter) in the finals for the big win and a very exciting winners circle. Semi Pro was Russ Fraser over Steven Ballantyne who was having a weekend to remember looking like he might be unstoppable, but Russ ended that. Super Pro was quite a story and the name Rennie would be prominent in all aspects as Pam had set the wheels in motion with her win on Friday and Husband Dave did not let her down as he backed it up with the $5000. win on Sunday. Dave would wind he way through the door car field to beat Harry Olson in the door car finals, and then put Francois Roberge on the trailer in the Super Pro Final making for a great weekend for the RENNIE'S. Next weekend is strictly a time trials and street car Saturday and we return with a full race weekend the first weekend of June.

SKETCHES INC. "INKS" DEAL FOR 2022 WITH LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY & ADM MOTORSPORTS: MAY 15/23
The boys at Sketches Inc. the new in spot to get your custom painting done have been overly busy again this winter. But the boys have not been too busy to take the time to "Ink" a new deal with Luskville Dragway and ADM Motorsports for the 2023 Racing Season. If you are a follower of this site or Luskville Dragway you know that this is a company that came on the scene only a couple of years ago, but have made a big splash in a very short time. Brandon and the boys have quickly become a big part of the track, and have already put out some cool stuff in the form of helmets and transmission. But last spring saw the debut of a all out full tilt custom paint job on the ADM Motorsports 1963 Corvette Roadster that Kyle Jessup drives. There was no question that the helmets and trans they did where first class and set the wheels in motion, but with this latest endeavor I think a lot of peoples eyes are going to be opened very wide.
The shop which is located at 7A Cleopatra just off Merivale Road (613-366-2548) and has many things that the drag racer may be looking for besides custom paint jobs.

Its finally here, this weekend is the opening weekend for the season long points championship at Luskville Dragway for Super Pro, Semi Pro and Jr. Dragsters. Opening weekend is always special as many of us have not seen each other for 6 months and as you can imagine we are used to being around each other. "Most" of the drag racers at Luskville Dragway consider themselves part of one big family and when family don't see each other for a while, well they are anxious to do just that. Gates will open Friday and test and tune will take place at 4pm (cost is $50.00 car and driver), this will be followed by a gamblers race for those interested. Saturday is the Precision Concrete Finishing Mulligan Saturday which will be followed by the Busters Bar Cruise Night. Sunday will see the second day of eliminations in the Stinson's/Napa Points Championship Series. LETS GO RACING.

*
Troy Davis was not at the last pre season test and tune as he was up at Ogilvie Auto and Fleet installing a brand new set of bead locks on the ADM Motorsports Roadster. Mike has made a number of cars look twice as good as they use to with some new wheels and this is a perfect example of just that. If your thinking of a new look for your race car or street car then think of Ogilvie's for just that. The new set of Race Star bead locks made the roadster stand up just like it did on Roch Beaudion's Camaro.

*The last pre season test and tune was a big one with lots of Luskville Dragway regulars taking part in what was a great day to test the race car before opening weekend. The list was long with members of the jrs. Semi Pro and Super Pro all getting out on a beautiful sunny day at Luskville Dragway. Landyn Urslak was testing both his and his brothers car making sure everything is ready to go for opening weekend. The track was in great shape and the traction was excellent as Landyn's easy 4:50 pass showed. We all have our fingers crossed that this coming weekend will give us just as great weather as we kick off the 2023 seaon.
SPECIAL RACE FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE, FRIDAY JUNE 30/23: MAY 15/23
Many things have happened to Luskville Dragway over the last 3 years, most of them very good and the track has had the incredible support of its racers, advertisers and fans through it all. It started in the fall of 2020 when a group of racers after hearing that we where thinking of putting in some new concrete, said hell yes, lets put in 700 feet of it!!! So with a major fund raising project and a commitment from the track to make it happen the rebuilding of Luskville Dragway began. The final product was much more than anyone could have imagined and it certainly set well with those that had been a part of it. Then the fall of 2022 and another racers inspired project, and another racer fund racer to help "Build the Wall" and Build it we did and now we have something that many including myself felt was quite a ways down the road on the list of improvements. Along with building the wall, the top end was completely resurfaced something that had been contracted before the Wall was decided on. What has happened to Luskville Dragway over the last 3 years is nothing more than spectacular, and what is more spectacular is it was done with financial help from the racers and advertisers that race there. To those racers and you all know who you are THANK YOU, and we now will have a racers appreciation race on June 30th just for you. This will take place on the Friday of the July 1st weekend Super Tour Race and we are currently working on the flyer for this "Free Entree Event". We will also have a updated racers list long before the event gets here.

PARA PERFORMANCE THE OFFICIAL SPEED SHOP OF LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY : MAY 15/2023
I
n a day and age when speed shops are becoming a thing of the past it is nice to see that one of them is not just surviving but it is getting bigger and better as the years go by. Its a tuff deal for independent speed shops, as the times changed and many people starting supporting on line shopping when it came to high performance, which was a death nail for many, but not Para Performance of Montreal which is still going strong. It was only a little while ago that we talked about Ottawa's oldest running speed shop "Young's Speed Shop" closing, so it is great to here that Para Performance is doing well. Doing well enough, that the owners have once again thrown their support behind Luskville Dragway and the 2023 racing season. Owned by François Paradis and the Anger twins Fred and Frank,  it is quick to see that this is a racers speed shop to say the least. Para carries a complete supply of high performance products, and if they don't have it on their shelves they can get it the next day. They are also a supplier of Abruzzi Racing Transmission and once again in a day and age when our Canadian Dollar is not well, this is the place to shop. They can also get you what ever size and type of drag slick you want and have been doing so for a number of this area's drag racers. Many years ago there was many speed shops, many of them have bought advertising at Luskville Dragway over those years, but today Para Performance is one of the few that is around and is growing, so please remember to support those that support us. You can find out more about Para Performance by clicking on their Logo in our advertisers page.  paraperformance.ca

With only two weeks to go until our first major program of the season "Malcolm Carpentry Opening Weekend" there is a lots to do for many racers. The bad weather and the bad supply chain has put many on a last minute deal to get them ready, but most will. We will have a test and tune and gamblers race on Friday May 19th. in an effort to give everyone a chance to get dialed in. We have worked hard over the last few months to make Luskville Dragway a better place, and that will continue, but now we need your support, Be There.

*We are extremely pleased to announce that the Jr. Dragster National Championship will be moved to the Bracket Bonanza Weekend and will now be called the IG Wealth Management Jr Dragster Championship, presented by Mister Transmission. This is our biggest Jr. Dragster Race of the year and we will now celebrate it with big prize money as well as Jr, Dragster Wally's. Tina Clarmo and Bill Harling (Mister Transmission) have been strong supporters of the Jr. Dragster class and have made this happen. We are actively seeking a presenter for the Friday Portion of the weekend so we can have all three days pay out $1000. to win for the Jrs. Pretty amazing when you think about it, when I started the Bonanza back in 1980 it was $1000. to win Super Pro, now its a 1000. to JR. Dragster. Once again thank you to Tina Clarmo and Bill Harling for help making this possible, and lets hope we make it trip $1000.

*The sun was out in full force and so was many racers and street car folks as Luskville Dragway "Finally" got their season started this past Saturday. A number of Super and Semi Pro racers where present as well as some Jrs. all the way from North bay, Ontario as the Sequin Racing got a jump start on the season. As many of the racers did, Luskville Dragway was also stung with a few minor glitches but nothing that couldn't be worked out which was the same for those racers that made their way out to the track. Lepine Racing was present with both door car and drag bike, and drag bike was a success but its back to the drawing board for the Door Slammer. Other semi pro standouts who were present was Ryan Clarmo (potential Rookie of the Year Candidate) Howard Foley, Boomer Dubois. John Lutz who hauled all the way from Kingston still has some sorting out to do, but says he will be present this season in Super Pro. Many racers have decided to wait until this weekend coming to get some testing in, and don't  be surprised if some of those that where there for this past weekend will be back as well.

JORDAN MANUFACTURING CONTINUES ITS STRONG SUPPORT OF LUSKVILLE :MAY 8/23
Scott Wilson the owner of Jordan Manufacturing is one of a few drag racers who looks forward to winter, and lots of snow so too speak. You see Scott who has owned a number of drag cars over the years and will return in the dragster wars in 2023, is in the snow plow building business as well as resale of heavy equiptment. I think it safe to say that everyone is anxious for Scott and Jacob to return to competition at Luskville Dragway. The undercover dragster has had some final touches done with the help of Terry Miron and will make its début this season, everyone looking forward to the "Chief" getting back on track.
