| QUICK FACTS:When I think back to the days when I started doing this drag racing stuff , there was a quite a few different groups of racers than there is today. However there are a few faces and names that have been around as long as I have (30 or more years) and one of those names that has been involved that long is Bob West. Bob who's "Wild Wild West" Nova is one of the best known names in the sport of Drag Racing in Ontario and Quebec. Know for its long smokey burnouts, and wheels in the air launches quickly became a hit with the fan's then, and still is too this day. Bob who is not afraid to travel has been a regular on the Benson Auto Parts Tour for the past 12 years, and has done his fare share of winning on that circuit from the day he started racing there. Mr. West has also been to a number of NHRA Finals as well as representing Luskville Dragway at the annual Halloween Classic race held at Norwalk, Ohio every year. Bob says one of his favorite wins was one of our first promotions at another track (Cayuga 1997) where he won the May 24 Big Dollar race we did there. Of course one of the items that many don't know about the little "Wild Wild West Nova" is the fact that in a day of everyone running a BIG BLOCK, Bobby still runs a small block Chevy which is made evident by the mural on the side of Bobs car, as a team of mice pull a stage coach. Yes there is no question that when it comes to our statements about drag racing being another form of entertainment, Bob West is one of the best entertainers out there and always gathers a large following of spectators no matter where he is running. | |||||||||||
