There has been lots going on in the Semi Pro Ranks this off season and if opening day was any indication we are in for one of the best years ever in this class. This week the Frank & Andrew Chapman from Stittsville indicated they are getting closer and closer to be ready for some racing with their newly purchased S-10 Truck. They where picking up their trailer this past weekend and hoped to be out testing June 1st. This is a truck that has a pretty good history at Luskville Dragway starting out with ADM Motorsports, then going too Dick Stanton who won a ten grander with it at Elliot Lake, and then over too the D&D Performance Team where it spend the last little while. Andrew and Frank are just finishing things up and will become the newest Father and Son Team at the track, looking forward to having you guys there.

*With another week of so called spring behind us, we can now look down the road to next weekend and the first big race of the summer as the Canadian Bracket Super Tour kicks of the season with its first race at I-Car @ Mirabel. The Super Tour is the richest Bracket Tour and is the eastern version of the Napa Auto Parts Money Tour which is also a five race series that takes place across Ontario and Quebec. The events pay the biggest prize money in CANADA, and attract racers from all over our country and the US. Brandon Barker who won both the Napa Tour and the Super Tour is not only defending his title's there this year but has made it clear he is going after a Triple Crown this year. Brandon has made a  commitment to chase the Luskville Dragway Points and try and take down track champion Derek Malcolm, who has won the championship more than any other driver in the history of the track. Both Brandon and Derek rely on D&D Performance horse power, and opening weekend had them both show casing their stuff with excellent finish's by both. Brandon also was the big winner in the first race at Napierville Dragway in early may, and Derek was the big winner in the Opening weekend Precision Concrete Mulligan $2000. Saturday.

* TEAM QUEBEC CITY SEMI PRO CHALLENGE CLOSING IN ON FULL: With the addition of Marc Andre Piche Nadeau The Quebec City Semi Pro Team for Foot Brake Challenge #1 is almost full. This will make the second GM Race Car to join what was pretty much a all Ford Team in 2018 when they went all the way to the finals before loosing to Team Shannonville. Marc Andre brings his red rocket trans am to Luskville Dragway for the first time ever, but don't let that fool you as this season veteran can win rounds.

SPEEDY AUTO SERVICE WEEKEND BECOMES A ONE DAY EVENT THANKS TO MOTHER NATURE: MAY 27/2019
Hasn't it just been a wonderful spring, rain, rain and more rain, the grounds are so saturated that its hard to get any thing done, and yes I know there are people worse off than us and I understand that. But boy wouldn't it be nice to have some of that Global warming right about now. However with that being said things are not much different than what they have been for many springs over the last 40 years that we have been doing this. Yes we have had that odd 20 degree cruise night in April, and yes we have had two great days for the Malcolm Carpentry Opening weekends, but most of the time the weather has been pretty much what we have been dealing with all spring this season.
So as you can imagine that was the lead up to the announcement that another weekend has been affected by the weather man, and you'd be right, as what was to be another two day event had to be reduced to a single day, and this one being a Sunday,  and only one race was run because of that. The Speedy Auto Service Super Sunday Shootout became just that, so with rain hitting us as scheduled on Saturday, the staff anxiously waited for it to stop so as much drying could be done Saturday night as possible. However all the drying was for not, as at 3 am Sunday Morning a massive thunder storm came through and once again DRENCHED the track and the property. But once again the staff was up at the crack of dawn working hard to dry everything that could be in order that we could once again salvage one day out of the weekend.
With a strong field of Super Pro cars the day got underway with time shots and eliminations starting at 2 pm sharp, also out in a large contingent was some very fast street cars, who where also appreciative of some sunshine and a race track. The Jr. Dragster final would boil down to Rookie Cole Malcolm Krottner who once again fail to make it too the winners circle as Ryan Clarmo would wrack up his second win of the season. The Semi Pro Class would boil down to Patrick Alaire and Russ Fraser, with Alaire and his Dodge taking his first win of the season over the Brockville based Mustang.
Super Pro which could be the class of the season and the future of Luskville Dragway saw some great runs and some tight action on the tree saw Brandon Barker of Belleville move against Derek Malcolm in the finals. Malcolm who was the big winner the week before moved first with the best reaction time, but Barker would come on strong at the big end taking the win light as Malcolm's car fell off enough to allow Brandon to go around him. As we said the Super Pro Class looked very good and with a few regulars still missing the field was large and very good. The strong showing of the street cars, and some very fast ones at that, showed they too appreciate having a track in their back yard.

Ryan Clarmo made in two wins
in two weeks.

The Dodge Boys picked up their
first win of the season

Albert Jerome was out with his
new ride for 2019.
LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY SEMI PRO TEAM TWO ANNOUNCED: MAY 27/2019
With what many would say one of the best Semi Pro Races ever for a opening day weekend under our belts we are pleased to announce the members of the second team from Luskville Dragway for the 2nd. Annual Team Challenge. The race which will take place on June 29th of the Canada Day weekend will feature some of the best foot brake racers in Ontario and Quebec. Giff & Miller, veterans of Luskville Dragway will lead the pack which will include some former track champions as well as some up and coming stars. Jim Hewitt who has a Championship Title on his resume' will bring his Chevelle to the party and will be joined by fellow Chevy driver Larry Whitty. Whitty after installing some George Rupert Carburation this past of season has really woke the little Chevy II up and has made it an exciting car to watch. Speaking of exciting cars to watch, well you don't have to go any further than Stephen Clarmo's wild wheel standing Malibu which has also been added to the party. A pair of Ford Mustangs will also been coming to the party, as Howard Foley and Tim Fearrey will add their Fords too the list joining bringing the total of three Fords in the mix for Team Two. Rounding out the 8 cars for Team Two will be Dick Stanton who ran for Team Shannonville in 2019 and won the race for them. Scott Hollywood will take up the 8th spot with Jake Gravel being back up for both teams should someone not be able to make it.

There has been some small changes to the schedule as we work hard at packing the park on the 50th. Anniversary Weekend August 17-18. We have decided to make the Honeywell Works weekend the Napa Appreciation Weekend as well, as we want very much to make the 50th anniversary as big as possible. We are very fortunate to have Paolo and his Honeywell Works Wally Weekend to make things happen and if we have the ability to invite thousands through the Napa Auto Parts People, well you can see what could happen. This means that anyone who wants will be able to get tickets to the event either through Honeywell or now through NAPA Auto Parts, lets hope that everyone does what they can too make this celebration BIG. Many special cars will be there as well as many special guests, all of which have played apart in making Luskville Survive and grow over the last 50 years.

Mike and Vicki Ogilvie report that everything went very well at their grand opening of Black Mountain Jeep accessories last weekend, with some very special quests from the USA. Mike who is what many would call a very aggressive business man has been adding some lines to his already very successful Ogilvie Auto & Fleet in Jasper, Ontario. This family run business which is run by a family that races every weekend at Luskville Dragway or on the Napa Auto Parts tour is well known and respected for their business's and will be very successful with their new endeavors I'm sure.

*
Francois Roberge has been hard at work filling the Quebec City Semi Pro Challenge Team and this week adds, yet another Mustang, and yet another great driver, as Eric Monaghan joins the challenge. Eric joins what is already a very FORD oriented race team with only Daniel Blouin and his Camaro being the only non FoMoCo product listed. Eric is no stranger to going rounds and putting the Ford in the winners circle, and is probably the one Quebec City Driver who has been too Luskville more than any other, as Eric visits once and a while, and not just for big races. As you can see by the list this team is going to be very, very strong and don't be surprised if Martin "The Iceman" Lassiseraye is not added at the end, as icing on the cake.

*The International Dyno Authority Outlaw Class Was a low turnout for car count, but not a single one of the cars was low with the front tires, as this picture clearly shows. Dan Tierney of Kingston was the #1 qualifier and he parlayed that all the way to the finals where he turned on the win light and but the Camaro in the winners circle for the first race of the season. As we pointed out, like everything a number of people where not ready for the Outlaw scene, whether its the weather, the flooding, or what ever but there is no question that everyone is late this summer. So as we head into the season and one race under our belt Dan Tierney leads the points in the first ever Outlaw points race.

*We often talk about the excitement of running the race track, the interesting people you meet, the highs and lows of watching the weather man, and watching the racers. Over the years I can honestly say I have met some very interesting people, and had some very cool things happen to me to say the least. But nothing like what happened to me this opening weekend while working the admission gate for a couple of hours on Saturday morning. Jeff Bradley a racer from up north who makes his way to Luskville Dragway a few times a year, and is usually part of our Northern Tour Races was one of those registering in and supporting open weekend. After registering in for the weekend with his brand new car, Jeff pulled something out his wallet and said here this is a donation for the track, it was a check for $1000. Jeff quickly pointed out that all we read about is tracks closing or having trouble keeping it going, and one thing we never have to worry about is Luskville not opening the gates every spring, and our Northern races taking place. To say I was shocked and humbled all in that same time would be putting it small, as this ranks right up at the top of incredible things that has happened to us over the years. Too Jeff, his company Bradley's Auto Service THANK YOU your generosity is something that we will never forget and it will be put towards more improvements at Luskville Dragway, why do I keep doing this, because the sport is full of some of the most incredible people you will ever meet.
BIG DAY, BIG WINNERS, RETCHED WEATHER GREETED EVERYONE ONE OPENING DAY: MAY 20/19
Not sure where to start, or where to go as we wrap up opening DAY 2019, yes its easy to get pissed off at the weather man, but it doesn't do you any good, there's nothing you can do but live with it, work with it and try to beat it.  So as the Malcolm Carpentry Opening weekend or what was suppose to be OPENING WEEKEND rolled around the weather changed every day, in fact every hour, and with that in mind a early decision was made to run both Saturdays race and Sunday race on Saturday as the weather called for rain on Sunday. So plans where to give everyone a chance on Friday evening but that too was cancelled because what was suppose to be a sunny hot afternoon turned out like most weekends so far this spring, not the case. So everyone was pretty confident as the weather man called for SUNSHINE for all day SATURDAY, again they where wrong as cloud cover lasted the entire day. So with a green race track to content with the staff and the racers set up putting two days of racing into the books. With time trials starting early, things looked pretty good for the semi pro guys as most of them made some solid pass's, but when the first dragsters started to go down, you knew we weren't there yet for the traction that Luskville is known for. The staff however did not give up and with some more glue and some more pass's things started to look the way they are suppose to. So by 1 pm the first round was started in Semi Pro and Jrs. Dan Pillwien backed up his championship title from 2018 with the first win of the season and the $750. that went with it, Mark Thompson would take the bridesmaid spot for the first race. The Jr. Dragster race would see Quebec City's Trevor Monaghan take the win over Rookie of the year contender Cole Malcolm Krottner. The winner in the first race which was the Precision Concrete Finishing, was also last years track champion as Derek Malcolm met and defeated Russ Adams for the $2000. pay day. Race 2 got underway right after the first one and here too Dan Pillwien would make his way back to the final, this time however Eric Monaghan would be the one in the winners circle photos. The Jr. program would see another Monaghan make their way to the finals as Lea Monaghan would meet Ryan Clarmo with Ryan taking his first win of the season. The Super Pro Finals would go about 8:30 and that would pit Kyle Jessup against Brandon Barker with Jessup taking the win light and the $1000. that went with that finish.
So again another weekend with crappy weather, however a weekend with close to 30 cars in both Semi Pro and Super Pro which is a good start too the season for sure. The weather well what can you say, its seems like the only thing you can count on is the weather man being wrong, but he was not wrong about Sunday as all those that stayed walk up to a steady drizzle and another spring day that looked like Sh?,T. Want to thank all those that took part in making opening weekend (Day) a success some who traveled long distances to say the least.

Dan Pillwien with big Win

Trevor Monaghan Jr. Winner

Rookie Jr.Driver Cole Krottner

Jessup under the lights for sure

ATWILL SERVICE CENTRE CELEBRATES 50 YEARS ALONG WITH LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY: MAY 20/19
Turns out Luskville Dragway is not the only one celebrating 50 years of being in business as one of our advertiser's, Atwill Service Centre is also hitting the magical number and will do so right along with the Dragway. Rick Atwill the patriot of the Atwill story started out on Montreal Road back in 1969 the same year that Luskville Dragway opened its doors when they opened their first Gulf gas station/service. Don't think at the time, did Rick Atwill realize how the two business would have such an amazing connection as the years would go on. Rick would move to Texaco in 1970 and a little further east on Montreal Road, and over the years a few more different locations. But in 1995 Atwill Service Center would leave the gas business, and would build a state of the art service center on 5 acres of land at 1167 Rainbow Street just off the Queens way in Ottawa's east end. The huge service which is equipped with a fully stocked reception room for customers has also expanded in their everyday business, as now they sell and rent golf carts, sell trailers, as well as a used car dealership. Rich along with Son Derek operate what many would call a remarkable business that was built on personal relationships with customers and the community. Being supportive of many different groups and associations along the way has built the Atwill name in the community. The great service is what has built the return of former customers and the addition of new ones all the time.
Rick as well as being involved very much with sports teams such as the Gloucester Rangers which he was part owner of, was also involved in motorsports, and so the big connection to Luskville Dragway. Rick would first get involved with Truck and Tractor pulling, but would then move too the drag racing world after purchasing the former Alan March NHRA Pro Stock Car. That love of Motorsports continues to this day with son Derek Atwill campaigning the family factory stock Dodge Drag Pak car. Motorsports was also the reason for the decision to hold a annual car show on the property at 1167 Rainbow Street, and with out question when this years version comes along (June 22) you can bet it will be bigger than ever, as Atwill Service Centre Celebrates 50 Years. Also look for an Atwill presence and involvement with Luskville Dragway's 50th anniversary on August 17th.
LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY'S FIRST TEAM COMPLETE FOR CHALLENGE, TEAM #2 LOOKING GOOD: MAY 20/19
With the racing season finally started one doesn't have to look very far down the road and the 2nd Annual Aylmer Performance Semi Pro Challenge event June 29-30th. And with that in mind its been a flurry of activity as Team #1 filled up and Team #2 for Luskville Dragway is now almost complete and will be finished up this week and announced next. Joining the already announced Team one members, Dan Pillwien, Darryl Jensen, Wes Clarmo and Pat Alaire are Albert Jerome, Russ Fraser, Mark Thompson, and Steve Ballantyne. Jerome who was voted Rookie of the year at Luskville Dragway in 2018 as well as Rookie of the year on the Canadian Bracket Super Tour will be in a brand new ride this season. Russ Fraser is one of the good guys, been supporting Luskville Dragway for as long as I can remember and had a great season in 2018. Mark Thompson is the son of Claire Thompson a drag racer who was racing back when the track opened, Mark who took over the driving duties a number of years ago is one of the best. Stephen Ballantyne has proven year after year that he is one of the best foot brake racers out there who also has a championship under his belt as well. This finishing up team one, and next week we will announce the second team for Luskville Dragway, hopes are we will see Montreal, Sudbury, and Shannonville sign on.

With the another test and tune day behind us and hopefully all the crappy weather, we can now all look forward to the Malcolm Carpentry Opening Weekend and the kick of too another season of Championship Drag Racing at Luskville Dragway. The off season has seen plenty of action and lets hope that action continues on the track as we get things going in the Napa Auto Parts Super Pro Series, the Jerome Landscaping Semi Pro Series and the Speedy Auto Service Jr. Dragster Program. The excitement around new cars, the return of old stars is what makes the beginning of any season extra special.  Spread the word and lets try and pack the park for what is sure to be a great weekend. Couple things to remind everyone about, NO ONE has asked for their name to be placed on SFI, if we don't here from anyone this week, it will not happen this year. WE can not bring the inspector in if we don't have any cars that need to be done?  Also reminder to everyone that this coming Sunday following the races it will be back to the bar at Busters Bar and Grill.  We plan on having a test and tune Friday Night May 17 "Weather Permitting. The cost of this will be $30.00 car and driver, both gates will be open all day Friday drivers must register in tower for test and tune, that will take place once Troy has everything in place.

*With out question it has not been a stellar kick off to the 2019 racing season, first two weekends rained out, and the next two met with some retched weather, with cloudy skies and very cold temperatures. This being said there was a good turnout of race cars this past Saturday with everyone trying to get a grip on a very cold, green race track. Larry Whitty, Jake Gravel, Darryl Jensen, Kris Parker where some of the semi pro guys, Dan Tierney was there from Kingston representing the Outlaw guys and Gary Smith was getting some seat time in his Super Pro car. As you can see by the picture the new alcohol set up on Whitty's Chevy II makes it snap off the line with some of its very best ever 60 footers. Dan Tierney was very impressive with his 10.5 car making some excellent pass's with his newly acquired Camaro.

*Francois Roberge has been a busy guy as he works hard to put a Semi Pro Team together for the footbrake challenge that can win it this year and not second place like last year. So with the addition this week of another tuff Mustang Racer they are one step closer to having a full team, and a team that can Kick Butt. Danny Morand will join the Quebec City Team and comes with plenty of experience. Morand who joins fellow Mustang racers, Martin Patry, Karen Gendron and Yves Porier as well as the only Chevy on the team so far Dan Blouin. Last years first go round for this event was a huge success, and the Quebec City Team was right there with Shannonville until the very last run, to only come up one round short of the title, they hope to change that this season.
CLARMO AUTO REPAIR CONTINUES STRONG SUPPORT OF LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY: MAY 12/19
When we talk about families and racers with business's that support Luskville Dragway, you don't have to go any further than Metcalfe, Ontario and Clarmo Auto Repair. Clarmo Auto Repair is owned and operated by Jamie and Sherri Clarmo, this family run business has long been a supporter of  Luskville Dragway, a family run business as well. Clarmo Auto Repair is part of the Auto Pro Chain of full out automotive repair shops which can fix you and your automobile up with any aspect of automotive repairs you require. In 2018 the shop partnered up with the owner of Randy's Toy Shop which specializes in antique, custom and nostalgia muscle cars.
Jamie Clarmo has made his mark on the Super Pro drag racing world many times over the years and continues to do so too this day, and now Jamie and Sherri's son Steven a former Jr. Dragster racer, is making his mark on the Semi Pro world with his wheel standing Malibu. Their Daughter Theresa is also in too horse power,  but chose's the single horse power stuff as she is an avid
horse rider and here too does competitions.  Again we point out to support those that support us, and whenever it is possible to use a business or product that supports our sport and our track do so.
We are also pleased to announce this week, that Jamie Clarmo will take on the competition in the Busters Big Dog Shootout come August 2/2019 and will do so in the recently purchased Racetech Dragster. Clarmo is no stranger to Luskville and no stranger to the Luskville Dragway winners circle, as well as winning races at other tracks over the years. This off season Jamie stepped out of his very reliable and winning S&W soft tail dragster and purchased Paolo Giust's Racetech car which has also been to the winners circle a number of times.
THE NORTHERN WARRIORS SEMI PRO TEAM READY FOR BATTLE: MAY 12/19
If you have ever been to one of our airport races you will quickly understand just how many semi pro racers are up North, and how many good semi pro racers are up North. Luskville Dragway is very fortunate as many of these racers make Luskville Dragway a regular stop on their summer of racing, and many of them call Luskville Dragway their home track. The list for the Northern Warriors for 2019 is a pretty good example of those racers and let me tell you this is a group of boys that can win it all.

Reg Laporte, Jason Laporte, Arnel Laperiere, Gary Paynter, Claude Trudel, Bill Harling, Pete Demers, and Dan Sproule, So as you see this is one heck of a strong team.

As reported last week, just a great feeling was had by all coming out of the Semi Pro Drivers meeting, also coming out of the meeting was the fact that we would have TWO teams for the Challenge. With the potential of having one of the best years ever in the Semi Pro Class, it was quite evident that there would be enough regulars to put forward two teams of competitors for the Challenge. Now tag on to that the excitement around the announcement below, that Jerome Landscaping was stepping up to replace TDL as title rights holder to the Points Series, and you can see that things are falling into place nicely for the new season. And on the heals of that I have just been informed that the "Northern Warriors" have their team together and we will be announcing it next week, big thank you to Super Pro Racer Louis Gagne for being the team manager much like what Francois Roberge of Quebec City has been doing. We have the potential to make this into something big as an annual affair.

*
Sticking with the Semi Pro Theme, last week and this past Saturday showed some good signs for 2019 and the future of this class at Luskville Dragway. First of all had he opportunity to meet Neil Martin of Mountain, Ontario who is a brand new Semi Pro entree for the class this season. Neil and his brothers are car guys, Chrysler, car guys obviously and have been coming to Luskville Dragway since its opening days as spectators. Not anymore as this full time Ottawa Paramedic has purchased a 73 Dart Sport race car powered by a 340 engine for competition in Semi Pro this summer. Neil, his son and his brother would on Saturday making some maiden voyages at the track, and everything went very well with plans to be back next weekend for another test session. Jake Gravel was also out with his new ride, looking good in yellow of course, and other than one little carb linkage issue, Jake too left with a smile as wide as the sunshine on Saturday. And last but not least has a chance to speak with the new owner of the former ADM Motorsports, former Dick Stanton, Former D&D Performance S-10 Truck owner. He two is close to being ready and hopes to be out shortly to test the new ride, and he also is a brand new racer to the track. So yes one would have to be very happy with all the excitement around this class for this season.
*Luskville Dragway was not the only local drag strip to be open this past weekend as Napierville Dragway held their annual pre season High Roller race on Saturday. This event gives some of our local guys a chance to get their feet wet " no pun intended" before our season gets off the ground. A number of Luskville regulars including Mike Chenier, Carl Soucy as well as a couple of Luskville semi regulars Brandon Barker and Steve Parkhurst took in the event. For 2018 Napa Auto Parts Tour Champion Brandon Barker, it was a picking up right where he left off one year ago, as he made his way to the finals. Making it even sweeter was the fact that his Uncle Steve Parkhurst was the other finalist, with Brandon Coming out on top to kick off the 2019 Summer.

*We also want to remind everyone about a big happening out at Ogilvie Auto & Fleet/Ogilvie Motorsports as they have the official launch of their new line, Black Mountain aftermarket products. Mike and Vicki are bringing in some special quests from the USA, Dennis Collins and Big Chris. Some of you probably know these guys from TV, but now you can meet them up close and personal. If you know anything about Mike and Vicki you know when they do anything they do it right so this is sure to be a special deal you wont want to miss. Mike and the gang have already done a number of Jeep Customizing and will have lots to show everyone that comes out. Hope all you drag racers that are not out testing make a point of being at Mike and Vicki's, by the way everyone visiting can pick up some Free Admission Tickets for Luskville Dragway's Malcolm Carpentry Opening Weekend presented by Precision Concrete, where you will get a chance to see the Napa/Stinson's Super Pro Series, The Jerome Landscaping Semi Pro Series, The Speedy Auto Jr. Dragster Series and the International Dyno Authority Outlaw Street Series kick off the season.
JEROME LANDSCAPING RETURNS WITH SEMI PRO TITLE RIGHTS FOR 2019: MAY 6/19
Racing season usually has its fare share of ups and downs as does the off season, and when we where informed that TDL would not be returning as official Title Rights Holder to the Semi Pro Points Series, it was a bit of a downer. With the class looking very exciting for 2019 it was made even more exciting when Albert Jerome and his company Jerome Landscaping announced that they would step up and take the title rights for the Semi Pro Class for this season. This is a great announcement and we thank Albert who is also a competitor in the class, in fact was rookie of the year last season at Luskville Dragway and the Super Tour. Jerome Landscaping is based in Aylmer, Quebec and can take care of any and all property maintenance, including winter snow plowing and any other work you may have.
Albert who has a brand new Camaro to compete with in 2019, will run a small block Chevy this season after running a big block last year. The newer model Camaro is being finished up with help from Chris and Gerald Dennique of Renfrew. Albert and his lady Rachel plan on sharing some of the driving duties this year after Rachel got the bug in 2018 running Albert's street legal Camaro. A big Thank you to Jerome Landscaping for stepping up and assisting in making this season one of the best yet for Semi Pro.

YVES POIRIER SIGNS ON AS PLAYER 4 FOR QUEBEC CITY A TEAM: MAY 6/2019
Quebec City was not happy with their runner up finish at last years Semi Pro Challenge, and before the event was over last season they made if very clear they would be back to finish the job in 2019. Well this week another heavy hitter was added to the team as Yves Poirier threw his name in the hat for this season version of what many semi pro drivers call the best race ever. Poirier who drives a very slick Mustang is a veteran of the drag racing wars and brings a ton of experience to the dance with his big tire Mustang. This is a driver who has also raced at Luskville Dragway many times over the years and knows the track as well as any out of town driver. This addition has the Quebec City A team shaping up nicely, and we say A team as rumor has it their could be a second team to match the two team effort of Luskville Dragway. With a raise in the prize money this season, (no increase in entree's) one can see that this event has taken on a life of its own. This is great news for the semi pro class and follows on the heats of some other good news semi pro stories as well.
ALAIRE & CLARMO BECOME NUMBER #3 and #4 FOR LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY'S A TEAM: MAY 6/19
Keeping pace with the Quebec City Team, Luskville Dragway A team announces two more members this week, as Pat Alaire and Wes Clarmo take up spots 3 and 4 for the 2019 version. Both of these drivers where part of the 2018 team, but as they will all admit they did not do a very good job, as they where the first team eliminated as Shannonville went on to beat Quebec City for the Title. Both Wes and Pat have said that last years poor showing is a HUGE incentive to be on this years A team, and also to do a lot better than last year. Both of these drivers have been to the winners circle, so both know how to win and will take that into this years competition.
RANDY URSLAK JOINS THE LONG LIST OF DRIVERS GUNNING FOR THE BIG DOG SHOOTOUT: MAY 6/19
Drag Racing life for Randy Urslak has changed greatly over the years, and being around Luskville Dragway for 40 years gave Randy a lot of time for many of those changes to take place. But none has been as much as the last few years, after a decade of three Jr. Dragsters for his kids, as well as his own Super Pro Program, Randy heads into a season with just Him in the drivers seat. So yes this is a strange situation, when you think back of the running that went on with Randilynne, Kayle and Landyn all in Jr's. and himself in a super pro dragster it was a busy time. As the kids grew up and one by one they out grew the Jr's. and went on to University's, last year was just Randy and Landyn. But that too has come to an end as Landyn has out grew the Jr. and has retired as the track champion in that class. So as of now plans are up in the air, do we buy a second car, do I put Landyn in this one? do we share the driving, does Landyn spend a year as a crew member, well you get the idea there is lots to think about. As of a few weeks ago when I had a chance to talk with Randy things where still up in the air, it was a ruff time to talk drag racing with him, as he had just lost his Mother, so that was very much on the for front of his mind. So with our 50th year upon us, Randy makes it very clear he will be racing, and he will be part of the Big Dog, as for Landyn's driving no decision has been made but you can be assured he is not done, and many think he will be the next "killer" in Super Pro.
