PIT BITS APRIL 28/2025 *The weather man is finally cooperating a little bit, so things have been full steam ahead at the track as this picture shows things will look a little different when you show up this summer. The concrete barriers that we installed a couple of years ago will have a fresh coat of white paint on them to make them look much better, and will also make your race cars look that much better in pictures. Even though John wont be their much this season we are working on having Mike Lacelle their as often as we can, we have used Mikes pics in the past, and being a former drag racer gives him a different view. Derek and Troy where at the track last Monday and tested all the timing system which is good to go for 2025. We will be using the new timing system once we get up and running and get it all sorted out. Paving is suppose to start on the shutdown on May 5th as that is when the plant opens so if all goes well we hope to be open May 10th for test and tune and a cruise night. The contractors where at the track all last week finishing up the drainage pipes, the wait will be worth it. *Some very exciting news surrounding the National Open as it was announced last Wednesday that Paulo Giust and "Black Betty" would be a special guest at the event at Luskville Dragway. Paolo who started his racing career at Luskville Dragway has never forgotten where he got his start and has been incredibly financially, and verbally supportive of the track after he moved to first Pro Mod and then the Outlaw vs. The world Class. Paolo does most of his racing if not all in the USA but has a following that is matched by none. Bringing Black Betty to Luskville Dragway will certainly be well received by the MANY FANS he has made over the years.
MORCEAUX DE FOSSE APRIL 28/2025 *Le météorologue est enfin de la partie, et le circuit a été très actif, comme le montre cette photo. Les barrières en béton que nous avons installées il y a quelques années seront repeintes en blanc pour un meilleur rendu et améliorer l'apparence de vos voitures de course. Même si John ne sera pas souvent présent cette saison, nous travaillons à ce que Mike Lacelle soit présent aussi souvent que possible. Nous avons déjà utilisé ses photos, et son expérience de dragster lui donne un point de vue différent. Derek et Troy étaient sur le circuit lundi dernier et ont testé le système de chronométrage, qui est prêt pour 2025. Nous utiliserons le nouveau système une fois que nous serons opérationnels et que tout sera réglé. Le pavage devrait commencer le 5 mai, date d'ouverture de l'usine. Si tout se passe bien, nous espérons être ouverts le 10 mai pour des essais, des réglages et une soirée croisière. Les entrepreneurs étaient sur la piste toute la semaine dernière pour terminer les tuyaux de drainage, l'attente en vaudra la peine. *Une nouvelle très excitante concernant le National Open a été annoncée mercredi dernier : Paulo Giust et « Black Betty » seraient les invités spéciaux de l'événement au Luskville Dragway. Paolo, qui a débuté sa carrière de pilote au Luskville Dragway, n'a jamais oublié ses débuts et a apporté un soutien financier et verbal exceptionnel au circuit après son passage en Pro Mod, puis en Outlaw vs. The World Class. Paolo court la plupart de ses courses, voire la totalité, aux États-Unis, mais son public est sans égal. La venue de Black Betty au Luskville Dragway sera certainement très bien accueillie par les nombreux fans qu'il s'est faits au fil des ans.
HINTON AUTOMOTIVE/WEST CARLETON AUTOMOTIVE CONTINUE STRONG SUPPORT OF LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY: APRIL 28/25 We are extremely pleased to announce that the title right holder of the Big Bill Board at Luskville Dragway will be back with the NHRA Track in 2025 and beyond. Vern & Cathy Hinton the owner of both of these companies which operate out of a very new and very big shop on 126 Walgreen Road in Stittsville, Ontario have been big supporters of Motorsports in our area for a long time. Vern who has owned Hinton Automotive for many years, and then purchased the West Carleton Automotive Machine Shop and Engine building business from Larry Aslagsen, who has been a fixture in the drag racing world for decades in this area. This company is as close as you can get too a big box automotive and performance shop, with the ability to supply you with what ever you need from general maintenance to full tilt performance. 2025 will mark 44 years that West Carleton Automotive has been supporting Luskville Dragway and the Drag Racers of this area. The shop which is state of the art includes a Dyno to test the race engines long before they see the race track. And whether it is a big block Dodge, a small block Chevy or any other type West Carleton not only has the ability but also has the history and the record to build what ever you need. Just ask Drivers like Ralph Coe who relies on Dodge Power from Hinton/West Carleton to make his Polara a very strong contender. Yes in the drag racing community this shop can handle what ever make or brand you have when it comes to making horse power, work done by seasoned veterans of the machine shop and engine building business's. Now after that you would think that only drag motors come out of this shop and that is very far from the truth as Stock Car Racing, High Performance Boat Engines, Truck and Tractor Pulling and just plane old street car performance engines are a regular occurrence out of this shop.  The Hinton Automotive side of the building is where the general automotive repair goes on, but besides this work there is a great deal of performance minded stuff as well. Many of the street scene and hot rods locally depend on Vern and the Team for any type of work they require and not just from the engine point of view which they obviously have all wrapped up with the West Carleton Division. But this shop can also do Chassis work, performance installation, I have even been in when fiberglass work was being done on a hood scoop for a race car, so yes when we say anything you need, you can get when it comes to Automotive, general or performance. Vern et Cathy Hinton, propriétaires de ces deux entreprises, qui exploitent un tout nouvel et immense atelier au 126 Walgreen Road à Stittsville, en Ontario, soutiennent depuis longtemps les sports motorisés dans notre région. Vern, propriétaire de Hinton Automotive depuis de nombreuses années, a ensuite racheté l’atelier d’usinage et de construction de moteurs de West Carleton à Larry Aslagsen, figure emblématique du monde des courses d’accélération dans la région depuis des décennies. PIT BITS APRIL 21/2025 *We have talked many times about the great advertisers we have, and we are not just saying that it is the absolute truth which was proven once again this past weekend and the drivers meeting. When over $1000. was raised for the Jr. Dragster Program at Luskville Dragway for 2025 and we have only started. We can also tell you the John Golka the owner of KD TRANSMISSIONS of Belleville has also donated an extra $500. to be given out at the Bracket Bonanza to the Jr. Drivers, and has basically said you guys decide how it is done. If you have been around drag racing at all over the last number of years you will know that Johnny is one of the most giving individuals there is in in the drag racing community, THANK YOU JOHN. *As you can tell by the schedule we will be late opening this spring, and will keep you updated as we get the paving done at the track and the rest of the construction, but we will be looking at May as of right now. There will also be some new things for the competitors this summer as we have added the paper less time slips to the program at the track. Everyone will need to download the FREE APP in order to receive their time slips on you phone. There will be no more paper slips so please keep that in mind as we introduce something that is being used at a number of other tracks through the country. This will also make having your car number very clear on your entree so it can be entered into the computer. The system is very user friendly and makes for a much smoother program. (no more down time for printer malfunctions).

Plus de 1 000 $ ont été collectés pour le programme Junior Dragster du Luskville Dragway pour 2025, et ce n'est que le début. Nous envisageons dès maintenant le mois de mai. Des nouveautés attendent également les concurrents cet été : nous avons ajouté les relevés de temps sans papier au programme de la piste. Il vous faudra télécharger l'application gratuite pour recevoir vos relevés de temps sur votre téléphone. Il n'y aura plus de relevés papier ; veuillez donc en tenir compte, car nous introduisons un système déjà utilisé sur plusieurs autres pistes à travers le pays. Votre numéro de voiture sera ainsi clairement visible sur votre inscription, ce qui facilitera sa saisie informatique. Le système est très convivial et simplifie grandement le programme (plus de temps d'arrêt dû à des dysfonctionnements d'imprimante).
THE STABLE ADVERTISING PROGRAM "STABLE" WITH LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY IN 25: APRIL 21/25 Drag Racers have long been known for being some of the most ingenious people on this planet, and people who seem to make things work, and work real well. I think that adage is more than appropriate for this story as the move that Jamie Clarmo did a few years ago, has turned out very, very well. Jamie and Sherri as many of you know are drag racers, and the owners of Clarmo Auto Repair a company that has supported Luskville Dragway for a long time. The Shop that they own sits in a complex (plaza) that they also own, and had a restaurant that was leased to another party. When covid hit, the leasee hit the road leaving Jamie with an empty restaurant. Now it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out there was not a line up of potential new renters, with the Covid Pandemic and all. So the decision to take over the operations of the facility themselves seemed like the only think they could do. Well as it turns out, it was a great decision as the Restaurant has become a "Stable" place to eat in the Metcalfe area, and has attracted many a drag racer over the last few years as well. In his own words Jamie is very, very pleased with the outcome of  "The Stable" Restaurant and is looking forward to the future. So we are very pleased to announce that The Stable has signed on as an marketing partner with Luskville Dragway for 2025 and beyond. One of the things we already have planned is a drag race, hot rod car show and party on August 11th in the parking lot of the restaurant, and we hope EVERYONE will come out and support those that support us. If you follow Facebook at all you will see that Jamie has done a masterful job of promoting the new venture on Facebook, and no doubt has played a big part in the restaurant having a "Stable" clientele. I should also point out that the name for the shop came from their daughter who as many of you know is very big in horses.

Je pense que cet adage est plus que pertinent pour cette histoire, car l'initiative de Jamie Clarmo il y a quelques années s'est avérée très, très réussie. Jamie et Sherri, comme beaucoup d'entre vous le savent, sont des dragsters et propriétaires de Clarmo Auto Repair, une entreprise qui soutient Luskville Dragway depuis longtemps. Leur atelier se trouve dans un complexe (place) qu'ils possèdent également, et ils avaient un restaurant loué à un tiers. Lorsque la Covid a frappé, le locataire a pris la route, laissant Jamie avec un restaurant vide. Maintenant, pas besoin d'être un neurochirurgien pour comprendre qu'il n'y avait pas une file de nouveaux locataires potentiels, avec la pandémie de Covid et tout le reste. Français Donc, la décision de prendre en charge les opérations de l'installation eux-mêmes semblait être la seule chose qu'ils pouvaient faire. Eh bien, il s'avère que c'était une excellente décision car le restaurant est devenu un endroit « stable » pour manger dans la région de Metcalfe, et a également attiré de nombreux coureurs de dragsters au cours des dernières années. Selon ses propres mots, Jamie est très, très satisfait du résultat du restaurant « The Stable » et attend avec impatience l'avenir. Nous sommes donc très heureux d'annoncer que The Stable a signé comme partenaire marketing avec Luskville Dragway pour 2025 et au-delà. L'une des choses que nous avons déjà prévues est une course de dragsters, une exposition de voitures hot rod et une fête le 11 août dans le parking du restaurant, et nous espérons que TOUT LE MONDE viendra soutenir ceux qui nous soutiennent. PIT BITS APRIL 14/2025 *Some of the new things to come out of the Drivers Meeting was customers will be getting an extra hour of time on Test and Tune Days, as start time is being moved up to 1:00 pm. Cost will stay at $50.00 PER CAR LOAD starting at 1 p.m. as well, which will stay the same as last year. Spectators who are only coming to watch will pay $10.00 per person up to $50.00 per car load. As you can tell by the schedule we will be late starting this year, the weather man has not cooperated very well and we all hope its not a sign of the summer. We will keep everyone informed by this web site and our Facebook page on when we will be opening for the season. We will keep you posted as we move forward over the next couple of weeks but look for the first weeks of May. Drivers meeting had a very good turnout and many stayed on for the Bracket Life Practice Tree Party and Competition. KD Transmissions Inc. Mike Ogilvie was the lone semifinalist. Congratulations goes out to the new' ADM Motorsports- Angers,Davis and Malcolm on a official kick off to the new era for Luskville Dragway. Over 43 Years under the Arnie and Diane Malcolm will see the next chapter take place. The track wont look the same for the racers when things get underway in May as a lot of construction has and is taking place before the gates swing open.

Le tarif restera inchangé à 50 $ par voiture à partir de 13h, soit le même que l'année dernière. Les spectateurs venus simplement pour regarder paieront 10 $ par personne, jusqu'à 50 $ par voiture. Comme vous pouvez le constater au vu du calendrier, nous commencerons en retard cette année. La météo n'a pas été très coopérative et nous espérons tous que ce n'est pas un signe avant-coureur de l'été. MALCOLM CARPENTRY OPENING WEEKEND MAY 16-17-18 WILL KICK OFF 2025 POINTS CHASE: APRIL 14/25 With the drivers meeting now  behind us, and everyone ones thoughts now turning towards the racing season, we hope that 2025 brings some good exciting times to the racing community. So with that in mind we bring the first good announcement of many to come, as we announce the kick off too the 2025 Track Series May 16-17-18 2025. Malcolm Carpentry & Construction, like they have done for the past number of years will once again hold the title rights and will make it possible for us to have this big weekend. With increased purses for both Super Pro and Semi Pro we are certainly hoping to attract a number of out of town drivers to this event. Malcolm Carpentry and Construction is owned and operated by 7 time Track Super Pro Champion Derek Malcolm. The privately owned business operates in Ottawa and has grown to the point where the work almost interrupts Derek's Racing program, however the love of drag racing and the friendships from it, keeps him making adjustments to make things work. Derek is not only busy with his company and his drag racing but he along with his wife Tiziana are on the run with their two young girls all the time,  Basketball to Volleyball to Jr. Dragster racing and much more. As many know besides racing at Luskville Dragway Derek also plays a key role in making the track work, whether its the staring line or the timing system he is on top of it all the time, many times interrupting his racing. Malcolm Carpentry specializes in renovations and specialty construction of recreation rooms, bathrooms and kitchens and comes with plenty of recommendations. Most of the new work this company attracts comes from recommendations made by people that he has done work for, and that tells you one thing his work is superior. Opening weekend will see the track open up on Friday for camping and pitting, with plans to run time trials and a gamblers race on Friday Evening, Saturday will see a full day of racing for Super Pro, Semi Pro, Jr. Dragsters and Nostalgia Cars starting at 10:00 AM. Sunday will also see a full day of racing for all four class's. We will have more exciting news about this weekend in the weeks ahead which will include more increased payouts which should make everyone happy. The Late Carl Jessup had always been a strong supporter of Luskville Dragway and his Son Kyle and Wife Karen have made it clear that they will continue that support and keeping Carls name alive at Luskville. These days Son Kyle, who does most of the driving of the family Undercover rear engine dragster, can be found at Luskville or on the tour almost every weekend. The Younger Jessup and Mom will keep with the racing operation, just like Carl would have wanted. Kyle has been working with his father from the first day he was old enough to do so. Kyle who also has done a lot of racing with ADM Motorsports over the years, continues to be very tight with the ADM boys. Precision Concrete has always been responsible or involved for any and all of the concrete work at Luskville Dragway, even when Bellai was doing the main lanes Kyle was always there to over see everything and do all he could. Precision then installed the concrete center section and tree base that looks so good now at the track. Precision has also done work for many other racers including Derek Malcolm (Malcolm Carpentry) Troy Davis, Tom Orr, Brian White and Joe Kavanagh to just name a few. Their work is much like the title of their company, done with precision, perfection and pricing that is matched by none. Aujourd'hui, son fils Kyle, qui pilote la plupart des dragsters familiaux à moteur arrière Undercover, est présent à Luskville ou sur le circuit presque tous les week-ends. Le jeune Jessup et sa mère continueront de participer aux courses, comme Carl l'aurait souhaité. Kyle travaille avec son père depuis qu'il a atteint l'âge de le faire. Kyle, qui a également participé à de nombreuses courses avec ADM Motorsports au fil des ans, continue d'entretenir une relation très étroite avec les membres d'ADM. Precision Concrete a toujours été responsable ou impliqué dans tous les travaux de béton à Luskville Dragway, même lorsque Bellai faisait les voies principales, Kyle était toujours là pour superviser tout et faire tout ce qu'il pouvait. Precision a ensuite installé la section centrale en béton et la base de l'arbre qui a l'air si bien maintenant sur la piste. Precision a également travaillé pour de nombreux autres coureurs, notamment Derek Malcolm (Malcolm Carpentry), Troy Davis, Tom Orr, Brian White et Joe Kavanagh, pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns. Leur travail est à l'image du titre de leur entreprise, réalisé avec précision, perfection et des prix inégalés. Comme de nombreux coureurs l'ont prouvé, il s'agit d'un parfait exemple d'une entreprise que vous, la communauté des courses, pouvez soutenir, qu'il s'agisse d'un plancher de garage, d'un plancher de sous-sol, d'une passerelle ou de fondations complètes de maison. OGILVIE AUTO & FLEET CONTINUES A TRADITION, MAJOR SUPPORT FOR LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY: APRIL 7 /25 You have heard me many times talk about Luskville Dragway and its family like atmosphere, there is no question about what makes that happen at the small NHRA drag strip located just outside Ottawa, Ontario. It is my personal opinion that the large group of racing families that call Luskville Dragway their summer cottage is very much the reason. We have celebrated Canada Day together, Thanksgiving together and many, many birthdays together. One such family is the Mike and Vicky Ogilvie Family from Jasper, Ontario who along with daughters Rachel and Ashley play a BIG part in that atmosphere we are so proud of. And the family aspect continues with Mike and Vicky as they own and operate Ogilvie Auto and Fleet as a family as well. The business which on the quietest of days is much louder that any of its counter parts in the big city keeps Mike and Vicky running off their feet to keep things under control. And that has been even more busy the last year or so as they have upgraded and expanded the facility in a very large way.  In the racing season, Long days of running the business are usually followed well into the evening getting FOUR Super Pro Dragsters ready for competition at Luskville Dragway or some other drag strip in the area, as well as many times helping others or customers get their stuff ready as well. This is a family that from the very beginning have done as much as they possibly can to help support and promote their home track. Ogilvie Auto and Fleet is a Napa Auto Pro Service Centre which means they offer a wide range of vehicle maintenance and car repair services that help prolong the life of any car. Ogilvie Auto and Fleet can also take care of your heavy truck or motorhome repairs as well, and does so for many of the racers from Luskville Dragway who require this type of service. This is also a shop that is very well diversified as they also offer everything from detailing, towing, car sales, Black Mountain Jeeps and accessories, and many performance lines as well including custom wheels. Mike and Vicki are also the official FTI Transmission Specialists in Ontario and are the ones to reach out to if you need anything Tranny related.  The shop which employees a dozen full time employees is well known for its methodical work ethic, which is shown and on each and every job that comes through the doors. And those doors have gotten larger in number as this past winter the Ogilvie's added a brand new LARGE addition to Ogilvie Auto & Fleet to handle the ever increasing work load on the big rig type stuff. For 2025 that incredible support will continue as Mike and Vicki will do everything they can to make the Bracket Bonanza Week of Drag Racing a huge success that it has become known for. they will be the presenters the July 1st race as well as signage space including the Tower Side Score Boards which will also display the FTI Logo.

Il ne fait aucun doute que c'est ce qui rend cette ambiance si particulière sur cette petite piste d'accélération de la NHRA, située juste à l'extérieur d'Ottawa, en Ontario. Personnellement, je pense que le grand nombre de familles de pilotes qui considèrent le Luskville Dragway comme leur résidence d'été y est pour beaucoup. Nous avons célébré la fête du Canada ensemble, l'Action de grâce ensemble et de nombreux anniversaires ensemble. Parmi ces familles, on compte Mike et Vicky Ogilvie, de Jasper, en Ontario. Avec leurs filles Rachel et Ashley, ils contribuent grandement à cette ambiance dont nous sommes si fiers. Et l'aspect familial se poursuit avec Mike et Vicky, qui possèdent et exploitent également Ogilvie Auto and Fleet. L'entreprise, qui, les jours les plus calmes, est beaucoup plus bruyante que n'importe laquelle de ses homologues de la grande ville, oblige Mike et Vicky à s'activer pour garder le contrôle.
