BITS
FROM THE PITS NOV DEC 19/09
*Well
folks this will be our last post until the new year where we will have a lot
of big announcements to make surrounding Luskville Dragway and the Tour. Our
next post will come in January, 2010 where the heck does the time go, and
boy does it fly by even faster as you get older. This season will mark our
30th year of running Luskville Dragway, something we are very very proud of.
*We
also want to take this time to say Merry Christmas to everyone that is
involved with us at Luskville Dragway and the Tour, Drivers, Crew Members,
Fans and Advertisers. This will be a very special Christmas for us as we now
have two Grandchildren to celebrate it with. So from all of us Arnie, Diane,
Angie & Jason, Derek & Taz and the girls Lila and Olivia MERRY CHRISTMAS AND
HAPPY NEW YEAR. |

BENSON AUTO
PARTS CONTINUES ITS INCREDIBLE SUPPORT OF ADM MOTORSPORTS: DEC 19/09
ADM
Motorsports (Luskville Dragway-Benson Tour operators) has said many times,
how fortunate they have been to have the most incredible Motorsports
Advertising support compared to any other race programs in this country. It
has been the reason for the 30 plus years of continuous and modestly
successful racing that has taken place at Luskville Dragway, and for the
past 10 years on the Benson Tour. The Benson Tour of course is the richest
and oldest Drag Racing Series in this coun try,
and continues to grow in strength and numbers as the years go by. And the
one advertiser that came on board about 10 years ago was Benson Auto
Parts, the largest auto parts chain in Canada and a name that is very well
known through out this area in particular, as head office is Cornwall,
Ontario. When Benson's became part of what was once called the "Show Me The
Money Tour" it took the series to a whole new level, and also allowed the
expansion of the series to other area's in the country (Grand Bend, North
Bay, Kirkland Lake, Elliot Lake and Shannonville). So with Christmas just
around he corner we thought it no better time to make this announcement
official. As we head into 2010
and another year of uncertainty in the financial markets one thing is not uncertain, and that is the
continued advertising support that Benson Auto Parts will put forth with ADM
Motorsports, Luskville Dragway and the Benson Tour. We feel that Benson is
too the local drag racing scene, what Winston was too Nascar and NHRA in the
days when they took those racing programs to another whole new level, the
way Benson has for us.
Benson is of course more than just a Auto Parts Supply Company, as they also
operate a number of other divisions under the Benson Banner, including
Tires, Truck Parts, and of course a HUGE aftermarket performance
parts business, with a number of very sophisticated Speed Shops in and
around Ontario and Quebec. Benson is also
involved in a number of charities, which the drag racing community gets
involved with through Bensons at the annual drivers meeting in April of each
year. |

ADVERTISER OF THE WEEK HIGHLIGHT, G.T. SIGNS: DEC 19/09
Well now
boys and girls its that time of the year to start reminding everyone once
again to support those that support us, and besides detailing the advertiser's
that are
re-signing with us for 2010 we will also be highlighting those that have
already done so or are going too. This week we would like to once again
remind everyone about the great work that G.T. Signs has done for us at the
Dragway, but also the great work they have done for many others as well, a nd
we will do so with some pictures located below. Brian and Barb Rotar the
owners of G.T. Signs are not just avid supporters but they are
race fans as well, Brian's history with the Dragway and for that
matter Motorsports in general , goes back many years. So it is rather nice
when you are dealing with
someone who not only loves the work he is doing, but loves the sport of
stock car racing and drag racing. Brian and his family have been doing many
of the race teams in this area for years, and with the signing
in 2009 as the official sign and lettering company of Luskville
Dragway we hope that they do many more of the race teams in
the future. G.T. Signs has done a number of great new signs at the Dragway
including the one for Malcolm Carpentry & Construction, as well as the
company truck and trailer. So if your thinking about signage or vehicle
lettering, think G.T. Signs. |

BITS
FROM THE PITS NOV DEC 12/09
*As
the picture too the right indicates Christmas is just around the corner and
now is the ti me
to put your 99RACE order in for 2010.
*Ryan
& Becky Whelan
gave birth to
a wonderful baby girl, Fiona Snow Whelan, on Nov 20/09.
Mother, granddaughter & father
are all doing well. With all the grand children that are being born in our
area and from out the racing community, the future of drag racing is
looking good. The Whelan's as the picture shows are avid Dodge racing people
and you can tell they are trying to convince Fiona to follow in their
footsteps, don't think this young lady is going to see a Chevy bow tie logo.
*This
next new car announcement is not of someone local but it is of someone who
has in the past and plans to race frequently with us in 2010. Frank Mark Jr.
who has been coming to Luskville Dragway with his Dad Frank Mark Sr. since
he was a baby will make his debut in Super Pro this seas on at the rip old
age of 15. Ironically Canada will be the only place he races in 2010 as in
the state of New Jersey you must have a valid drivers license in order to
race but in Canada you do not need too, SO guess what. For the next 3 years
Frank Jr. will be making frequent trips to Canada. Jr. who has race just
that a Jr. Dragster since he was old enough to do so took a test run in one
of the ADM Motorsports Dragsters last year and showed very quickly he was
ready. So Dad upon the beginning of the off season ordered a brand new race
tech dragster for Jr. to make is racing debut at Grand Bend Motorplex and
the first Benson Tour Race of the season in June. The family will probably
make a few more events this year in order that Jr. can get as much seat time
as possible. If Frank Jr. is anything like Frank Sr. then this is bad news
for the competition, its going to be interesting and fun too say the least. |

MALCOLM
CARPENTRY& BUILDING CONSTRUCTION OPENING DAY SCHEDULED FOR MAY 2-2010: DEC12/09
Over the last
30 years of operating Luskville Dragway we have watched more than one
generation of individuals come along, grow up, become successful and in some
cases stick around the racing scene for a long time. Watching some of the next generations
grow up and become successful drag racers, and also successful business men
has made running Luskville Dragway even that much more rewarding.
There is no question that Luskville Dragway has been a beneficiary of many
of those drag racers that have done just that. The list of successful
business people who have not forgot about the race track they gre w
up at is incredible, Tom Orr-Tom Orr Construction, Carl Jessup-Precision
Concrete Finishing, Randy Urslak-Randy's Performance Automotive, Len
Bertrand-Lentech Performance Automotive, Paulo Guist-Ottawa Greenbelt
Construction, Ray Miner Sr. and Ray Miner Jr.- Mr. Transmission and now
another drag racer turned successful business man Derek Malcolm owner and
operator of Malcolm Carpentry & Building Construction. Derek grew up at
Luskville Dragway and we have told this story many times in the write ups of
his successful drag racing ventures which he and all of us are very proud
of. But now he has something that he is just as proud of, Malcolm Carpentry
& Building Construction which is less than a year old but already running
this young man off his feet too keep up with the work. Derek who many of you
know pilots one of the fastest Top Dragster race cars that competes at
Luskville Dragway on a regular basis captured the Luskville Dragway points
championship in 2010. The support of Malcolm Carpentry for opening day will
be greeted with approval by the racers Im sure, as it is going to mean that
they will be running for increased prize money and awards in all three
class's, Super Pro, Semi Pro and Jr. Dragsters. Malcolm Carpentry Opening
Day 2010 will be on May 2nd. |

GRAND BEND
MOTORPLEX TO HOST FIRST RACE FOR THE BENSON TOUR IN 2010: DEC 05/09
One
of the most exciting announcements to come out of the Benson Tour in 2009
was the fact that it would be kicking it's
season
off at Grand Bend Motorplex Dragway, in Grand Bend, Ontario. Well, we hope
that it does the same thing this year, as once again and for the second year
in a row the Tour will begin its championship run at this very popular
Southern Ontario facility. Grand Bend Motorplex is considered one of the best drag
strips in Canada, if not the very best. It plays host to one of the very few
IHRA Nitro Jam National events in Canada, which probably tells you
everything
you need to know about the caliber of this race track. The race which will
take place on June 11-12-13 2010 will have everything it had in its first
year of existence, plus much more, as everything possible will be done to
make this event even greater than ever, and the best tour race in history.
Racing will get underway Friday afternoon with time trials and practice, and
a special gamblers race on Friday night. The rest of the weekend will
feature racing in b oth the 1/8 mile tour events, as well as the 1/4 mile
events in the regular Grand Bend Thunder Series. The Tour races will feature
payouts of $10,000. to win in super pro both Saturday and Sunday and $2000.
to win Semi Pro both days. New this season will be guaranteed payouts for
the 1/4 mile Thunder Series of $1000. in Top (super
pro) and $500 for Mod (semi pro) if less than 32 cars and $1000 to win if
over 32 cars, and I think its pretty safe to say there will be more than 32
Mod Cars. Entree fees for the weekend
will stay the same as last year as will the spectator admission prices in an
effort to make the weekend very affordable to everyone. Like last year we
will also be running a Top Sportsman and a Top Dragster Field with payouts
similar or larger too what they where last season. The weekend
activities in 2009 was with out question, one of the greatest weekends the
tour has had in its ten year's existence. We have already signed a number of
advertisers that will go along way in help make this years event the biggest
ever, and we will have more stories on those in the weeks ahead so stay
tuned. |

STITTSVILLE TRAILERS RESIGNS WITH LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY FOR 2010: DEC 05/09
One
of the first families we met after taking over Capital City Speedway in 2005
was the Hartwick Family who own and operate Stittsville Trailers. Orville
Hartwick and his entire family made it very clear how much they supported
our endeavors at and supported the moving forward of Capital City Speedway,
and too this day that support has never wavered and is one of the reasons
for the speedways success the last four years. But more than just the
support of Capital City Speedway was shown when Stittsville Trailers also
became a part of the advertising family at Luskville Dragway. Again showing
their desire to make Motorsports as successful in this area as it can be.
Yes it is advertisers, and more importantly people like the Hartwick Family
that make you want to keep going, doing what we are doing running race
tracks in this area. So as we head into the off season and your thinking
