NOTES FROM THE NORTH POLE  DEC 21/2015
*
We are happy to announce that Terry Miron has not only sold his BW Soft Tail Dragster, but he has sold it locally and too a new racer coming too a track near you, Luskville Dragway. But the good news doesn't end there as Terry has already replaced it with another rear engine dragster, a Racetech this time around and a car that is not only used to running at Luskville Dragway but winning as well. Terry has bought the former Racetech that was owned by Denis Souliere and for a short time Scott Wilson who sold it to Terry. The car changes don't stop there as Scott is talking about a super pro DOOR CAR this time around which would continue the good news for that side of the class that was started last week. Terry who sold his car less motor and Tranny will install that unit in the new ride for a full out assault on the Napa Points Championship in 2016, and a number of other special Napa Tour Events as well.
*Semi Pro veteran and Luskville Dragway regular Darryl Jensen called this week to bring us up to date on what he has going this off season, after loosing a motor on the very last day of the season in 2015. At one point Darryl was looking at changing cars, but has decided not too, and will stick with what he knows works as he challenges for the TLD Truck Repair Semi Pro Title in 2016. Darryl will have Randy Urslak of Randys Performance Automotive build him a new 427 SBC for his Chevelle with hopes of dipping into the mid six second zone come next season. Darryl has also shown some interest in maybe taking in more than one Napa Auto Parts Tour events in the new season, joining a number of drivers who have indicated they will attend at least two out of town Napa races this summer. There was plenty of talk from a number of Semi Pro Drivers at the awards banquet this past fall, that they would be venturing to a few out of town events, and obviously this is great news for those venues.
*Keeping in the Christmas spirit of giving, we want to give you all a look at a logo from 35 years ago that we still talk about too this day. This is the Bills Competition Engines Logo which was one of the more famous the drag racing world in our area and in particular at Luskville Dragway. We have seen it on the odd "OLD' t-shirt that some show up with once in a blue moon, but this is the first time we have been able to get it scanned and on our web site. We will be adding it to our "Blast from the Past" page and we hope to use it on some of our promotions in 2016 as we celebrate 35 years of operating Luskville Dragway. Our plans are too try and do something as often as we can to commemorate this up coming season, but also not too forget what got us here.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE ENTIRE MALCOLM FAMILY, & HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL NEW YEAR: DEC 21/15
As every year goes by and another Christmas rolls around I am once again reminded of how fortunate we are to have been able to keep Luskville Dragway running and growing for over three decades. 35 Years is a very long time and has meant that our family has spend each and every summer weekend, running drag races and drag cars. For Angie and Derek they have spend their entire life spending their summers running Luskville Dragway and other events, as well as racing. And today on almost any given weekend you will find one or all of the 3rd generation grandkids spending some if not all of their weekends there as well. Over those years we have had the pleasure of meeting and making friends with so many, and that is what has kept us going, and to these days we continue to grow and make new friends as we go. But with out question it is at this time of year that you really understand just how precious Family and Friends are and that with out either life really has no meaning. So as we take a pause in the action so too speak, to celebrate this great time of the year, let me on behalf of the entire Malcolm Family,  wish all of you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.
We hope that your Christmas will be as enjoyable as ours has always been, and as the grandkids get older and closer to Jr. Dragsters of course, it becomes even greater. We also hope that the new year will be filled with great things for all of the extended family that we have made because of our involvement in  drag racing.
2016 NAPA TRACK SERIES KICKS OFF ON MALCOLM CARPENTRY OPENING WEEKEND: DEC 21/2015
As we head into the Holiday Season we hope that this brings some good tidings to the racing community, as we announce the kick off too the 2016 Napa Auto Parts Track Series May 20-21-22/2016. Malcolm Carpentry & Construction, like they have done for the past years will once again hold the title rights and will make it possible to have this big weekend. With increased purses for both Super Pro and Semi Pro we are certainly hoping to attract a number of out of town drivers to this event. The race will also feature a Super Pro High Roller on Saturday Afternoon like the very successful one that was run in 2015 and met with a great participation. Malcolm Carpentry and Construction is owned and operated by Triple Crown Track Super Pro Champion Derek Malcolm. The privately owned business operates in Ottawa and has grown to the point where the work almost interrupts Derek's Racing program, however the love of drag racing and the friendships from it, keeps adjustments making things work. Derek is not only busy with his company and his drag racing but he along with his wife Tiziana are on the run with their two little girls all the time, from Dance to Soccer and much more.  Malcolm Carpentry specializes in renovations and speciality construction of recreation rooms, bathrooms and kitchens and comes with plenty of recommendations. Most of the new work this company attracts comes from recommendations made by people that he has done work for, and that tells you one thing his work is superior.
Opening weekend will see the track open up on Friday for camping and pitting, with plans to run time trials and a gamblers race on Friday Evening, Saturday will see a full day of racing for Super Pro, Semi Pro, Jr. Dragsters and Street Cars  starting at 10:30 AM, The super pro high roller will take place following the regular day of racing, and will then be followed by Busters Bar and Grill Cruise Night. Sunday will see a full day of racing for all four class's and will then be capped off with a back to the bar party at Busters Bar and Grill. We will have more exciting news about this weekend in the weeks ahead which will include more increased payouts which should make everyone pleased. We can also tell you that we will be once again be arranging for NHRA, SFI that weekend as well so if you want the sticker on your car this is the weekend to be there to get it done.  Again remember to support those that support Luskville Dragway and if your thinking about projects around your house give Malcolm Carpentry & Building Construction a call. You can check them out at www.malcolmcarpentry.com

As you can see by the write ups below we have been very busy this last couple of weeks, with advertiser excitement coming fast and furious and more than one new car coming too the area its been an early Christmas so too speak. But we have a lot of work ahead of us, as things change in this industry every day, and everyday it gets harder to keep things going, so we thank those that help make that happen. There will be a lot of attention put on points members in 2016 as we try too have the biggest membership drive we have ever had, and I really don't think there has been a better time for that too happen, I really hope that all of those that may have shied away from that in the past will understand how crucial that is to the life of any race track, please help keeps ours strong.
*Look for some special announcements surrounding the Randy's Performance Bill Gaw Memorial Weekend presented by RLD Industries, with racing Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Bonus Bucks for Super Pro and Semi Pro. We are also working on bigger payouts for Malcolm Carpentry Opening weekend presented by Precision Concrete Finishing, look for this event to be one of those weekends that we celebrate the Malcolm's 35th Year of operations at Luskville, more too come. the plans are for both of these events to also feature Split Super Pro Ladders with more on that too come.
*Some more news out of Arnprior this week also as Chris Dennique called to say he has sold his rear engine dragster AND trailer and will drive his Fathers Dart in Super Pro. However Chris is looking for an enclosed trailer if anyone has one that they want to sell. Chris's Dad Gerald will move into another rear engine dragster that they purchased in 2015 and have been finishing up ever since then. Look for both of these drivers to be part of the Napa Auto Parts Luskville Dragway Series in 2016.
*With all the good news about new cars there was bound too be some bad news as well, Denis and Martin Chouinard have sold there beautiful S&W Camaro Roadster to the a racer in Georgia. There was a local that was very interested and was trying to keep this great car in the area, but it is hard to compete with the US Buck right now as it is over 35% percent stronger than ours. This does not mean that the Chouinard's are getting out of racing just looking for something new and different.  Speaking of Roadsters we understand that the 63 Corvette Roadster that was originally owned by Ian St.Pierre and then Charlie Kenopic is now in the hands of someone new, and someone who is no stranger too Luskville Dragway. We don't want to let the whole story out of the bag as we have not talked with the new owner but only heard about this through that amazing rumor mill.
*Last but not least, next weeks publish will be our last until 2016 as we shut down a little for the Christmas and New Years week, a time when we all have family things to deal with. We will be back the Monday January 4th. We would like to remind the door car guys also that we need too here from you about entree's for the door car high roller at the Bracket Bonanza.
RLD INDUSTRIES RETURNS TO BE A BIG PART OF LUSKVILLE DRAGWAYS 35TH YEAR CELEBRATIONS: DEC 14/15
RLD INDUSTRIES LTD. is not stranger too Luskville Dragway or the Motorsports arena and performance cars of all kinds. This local Ottawa Business Success Story also has a long history in this city which started many, many years ago.
RLD Industries LTD came to be in 1979, founded by Ralph Dennis and his two sons, Larry and Dick ( R L D )At the time, they were manufacturing an outdoor aluminum sign product, and were having trouble finding people to perform the painting on these signs. Not being ones to give up on any project, they eventually figured out how to do the painting on their own, and the sign business became very successful. Before long, friends and family would ask Dick and Larry to paint their cars, etc. It didn't take long for their reputation to spread, and local businesses began inquiring about painting services as well. Eventually, with the demand for their painting services continuing to rise rapidly, the sign business was sold and the painting business took off! Since then, RLD Industries has continued to grow and evolve to meet the ever-changing demand of it's customers. RLD, over the past 35 years, has provided as many as 103 staff members with steady, quality employment. Today, RLD Industries' painting and coating services are among the best in the industry, and continue to be in high demand in the Ottawa area.
RLD as there web site shows offer a wide variety of services, but two that stand out to the racing community is the Powder Coating that every single race car should have if it doesn't already, and Cermakrome plating which can by used in a variety of applications. The one most obvious benefit for the Cermakrome on a race car, or a street car headers is it not only makes them look better, creates less heat loss but also adds longevity to the headers. Cermakrome is made of aluminum and chromium. The aluminum provides very good rust resistance, and properly cared for parts will last many times longer when coated with Cermakrome. Also, coating the inside of pipes enhances rust resistance and exhaust gas flow. They are unable to coat the entire inside, but they can  prepare and coat headers inside from both ends as far as you can see.
Powder Coating speaks loud and clear the moment you see a race car chassis with it, or one with out as the appearance is obvious, but it also makes products more durable, corrosion and heat resistant, scratch resistant, and long lasting, giving you more value for your money. When it comes to selling your race car a powder coated chassis is one of the best assets your race car can have. So as you can see this is a company that offers you the racer a number of great products so remember that when you are in the need of such, Support those that Support our Sport.
RLD Industries is located 4210 Albion Road, Ottawa, or check them out at

ARNPRIOR RACERS DENIS BLACK AND RON HEADRICKS LASTEST NEW CAR OWNERS: DEC 14/2015
Things started off slow in the new car department this fall but have sped up considerably as we near Christmas as last weeks rumor mill stated, and this week we bring you all those details and other rumors. Denis Black who works in Toronto but calls Arnprior home to this day, and has many friends that race also in that town is the new owner of one of the slickest roadsters your going to find anywhere in the land. Denis has bought the Gordy's Race Cars built 37 Chevy that was posted on our web site from former Ontario native Mike Ferstl who now lives in Calgary. The roadster which will be powered by a big block Chevy is one slick piece and Denis will be instantly competitive in the car when it hits the track this up coming summer. Denis who started out a number of years ago in a front motored dragster which was sold to someone in western Canada will now have too make the long trip to Calgary to pick up his new ride. Also out of Arnprior and also a former regular at Luskville Dragway Ron Headrick has also purchased a new ride for 2016, but will not have to travel nearly as far to pick it up. Ron has bought the Camaro Stocker that Franco Cantusci and Gianni Cantusci have driven many times at Luskville Dragway over the past few years. Ron who has had a number of different rides over the years, even entered the dragster fray at one point of his career, has always been a door car guy at heart though and that is where he will return. This is great news for the door car side of the ladder at Luskville Dragway as both of these cars fit right in there and hopefully we will see them do just that. Both drivers with lots of experience, both buying great cars means only one thing, bad news for the competition. So as we near the Christmas time of the year this is fantastic news for the sport of drag racing and potentially good news for the programs at Luskville Dragway. Congratulations to both Ron and Denis for convincing Santa to stop by early this year.

Some of you may or may not have noticed a small change to the Luskville Dragway logo at the top of this page, if not we will give you a peak here, yes we will be celebrating 35 years this season. Now that is 35 years of the Malcolm's running the race track located in Luskville Quebec, the track itself has been around since 1969 when it was built, like this season, 2019 will be an important year also as it will mark 50 years of its existence. Back in 1981 our first season of running the track the first thing we did was become NHRA, and I believe we are now the longest running consistently NHRA track in Canada. We will be celebrating in many different ways in the 2016 season but none more than the 35th Annual Bracket Bonanza, which we will lay out in detail over the winter months.
*Another race team which is very busy this off season is the D&D Performance/VanNoppen Semi Pro/Jr. Dragster team out of Chesterville, Ontario. Talked with Phil today who let me know they have added a FOURTH Jr. Dragster too the team, and next year will see Olivia VanNoppen join the already successful Jr, Dragster team that consists of her two brothers and sister. Olivia will join Ryan Clarmo as they compete for Jr. Dragster Rookie of the year in 2016 and help us keep the Jr. Dragster numbers up there. Phil who competes in a Semi Pro Truck that was a mid season  purchase says he will be running the full TDL Truck Repair points series next summer with his eyes on a championship. The engine may get some upgrades this off season, If the shop can fit it in to what is a very busy place with the hopes of giving it some extra ponies for 2016.
*Also thought we might bring everyone's attention too a couple of local cars that are for sale and a REAL GREAT price, Brad Silverthorn's  1927 G-Force (same people who built Paulo's Pro Mod Corvette) is up for $13,000 Canadian, and it comes with some extras. The other deal is Terry Miron's B/W Soft tail dragster that is also very very low on the price ladder, the ironic thing here is if we can move Brads Roadster he will buy Terry's Dragster, then Terry will buy another local car which will allow that driver to purchase another local car that is owned by a driver who wants something new. Yep, one sale and the domino effect will take place bringing plenty of new car news.
*Some "HOT" rumors, look for big announcement from a former advertiser at Luskville Dragway who will be returning in 2016 to be part of our 35th. Anniversary year, an advertiser that almost every drag racer or street racer can use at one time or another. Another Big rumor if it is true and usually that little bird that drops them off is correct, and if so is more great news. Supposedly the roadster to the left has made its way towards us, and the home town it is headed to supposedly has another new door car coming as well, both of these drivers have been a large part of Luskville Dragway and if correct is great news for Door Cars. Speaking of Door Cars look for more news for them over the winter months. as we continue to work at getting more of them around.

RANDY'S PERFORMANCE CONTINUES A 35 YEAR TRADITION IN 2016: DEC 07/15
As we get ready to celebrate our 35th year, others will be doing so as well, and in some ways we will be doing it together at Luskville Dragway. Randy Urslak is someone I met 35 years ago when we first took over the operations of Luskville Dragway. Back in 1980 Randy was working for Bill Gaw in Kemptville at Bill's Competition Engines, and like the name said it was a performance shop to say the least. Bill Gaw like Frank Cantusci, Rolly and Eddy, Larry Aslagsen were all part of the original Ottawa area drag racers. Back in 1980 Randy was a young apprentice but Bill thought a great deal of Randy. When I went for my first advertising meeting with Bill on a cold winter night in the fall of 1980 Randy was asked by Bill to sit in on the meeting, Bill must have known something back then. So in reality Randy has been part of our advertising program at Luskville Dragway for 35 years in one way or another, and these days it is in a big way as it has been for the past many years. Randy went on to drive race cars for Bill and then finally opened his own automotive repair and performance shop in Kemptville called Randy's Performance Automotive. To this day Randy has never forgotten who gave him his first ride in a drag car and who pointed him in the right direction from a business point of view. Bill has long been gone from our world but every July 1st weekend thanks to the support of Randy Urslak and Randy's Performance Automotive, he is remembered at Luskville Dragway with the Bill Gaw Memorial Weekend. The event has been a highlight on the summer schedule at Luskville Dragway and last year was no different except for the first time ever Hwy 43 Car Club was involved. This added a great nostalgic atmosphere to the event, which was reminiscent of Bill's time.  The 2016 schedule will also feature the Bill Gaw Memorial event to take place with two big days of racing, The Canadian Jr. Dragster Championships and much, much more Including some BIG PAYOUTS. We will make an effort to work hard on the program for that weekend as it is a long weekend, as well as Canada Day and the Bill Gaw Memorial Weekend.  When I think back to those early days and the shy young man who I met for the first time little did I know the success he would go on to achieve and as of last summer Randy is now also the Deputy Fire Chief of North Grenville County. Randy now has a manager who runs the shop but whenever possible he is still very much hands on. When it comes to his racing this year he will continue to have his own car, one Jr. and who knows what for middle child Kayle who will move up from Jrs. Randy and Carrie's oldest daughter, Randy Lyn, who is also a former winning Jr. Dragster pilot, has gone on to Queens University. For now this has sidelined her drag racing career giving Randy only three cars to take care of instead of four. This has always been a family that races together and almost every weekend you can find Randy, Carrie, Landyn (2015 Jr. Dragster track champ) Kayle and Randilynne at Luskville Dragway where like so many of us, it is called their summer cottage. Yes we are very proud to have had the advertising support of Randy's Performance Automotive but more importantly we are even more proud to say that we have the friendship of this individual and his family. Randy's financial, verbal and moral support will never be forgotten.

MORE PAST WINNERS AND SOMEONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE JOIN THE BIG DOG LINE UP: DEC 7/2015
I have a feeling that this off season is going to see a lot of open bodied race car drivers add their names to the July 29th Busters Big Dog Shootout as the Friday night part of the 35th. Annual Bracket Bonanza. This week saw three more of the past winners join the fray as well as a former track champion who says he wants nothing more than to win the Shootout as well. First up is the 2013 winner Frank Mark Jr. who not only is following in his Dads footsteps, but take the win the following year that his Father did. Yes 2013 was a all Frank Mark Final as Jr. went into the final against his many time Bracket Bonanza winning Dad as the underdog, however it was the younger Frank who took the win light and the title in 2013. 2014 would see Frank Mark Sr. in the finals once again making it three years in a row that he got that far, and this time he was also up against a second generation drag racer in the form of Derek Malcolm who even at that early stage of his career had many a big dollar wins under his belt. Malcolm and Frank Sr. played it very cool in the staging lanes as neither one would go near each other, making sure that the head games would not influence the outcome. For Derek it would be a sweet win after loosing to Frank two years prior, and for many of the Canadian Fans it was a great night to celebrate. With no one ever winning two of these events there was no reason to think things would change as we rolled into the 2016 version of the Big Dog Shootout, and the tradition would stay intact as Denis Souliere would become the 7th different winner of one of Canada's premier single race payouts. However we have had a single driver make it too the finals more than once as Frank Mark Sr. would once again and for the fourth time make his way to the finals but Souliere would foil any chances of any driver winning more than once. To end this weeks next four high rollers, Kyle Jessup has once again added his name to the what we contend will be a long list by the end of the off season. Kyle is a well known driver who has won many big dollar races, a number of tour and track championships but has never won the Big Dog or the Bonanza two events he will be gunning to take in 2016. It is early and we already have 8 entree's of which we feel will be a full field come July 29th.
We also want to remind the DOOR CAR side that we are taking your entree's as well this event will be run during the day on Friday and will be over before the Big Dog Shootout starts, meaning this event will be done during the daytime which is what most of the door car drivers prefer. The cost of Door Side is $200 with all entree money going to the drivers.
BITS FROM THE PITS DEC 01/2015

The awards banquet is one week behind us, but out of the festivities came many a rumor for the off season to say the least, some of them we touched on last week, but here is a few more for everyone to chew on. Super Pro Top Ten finisher Mike Chenier is having his undercover dragster front halved at BW Race Cars. But Mike is once again talking about adding a door car to his team, but this time around with Semi Pro eliminator on his mind, maybe in a Corvette. Also out at Brian Whites BW Race Cars is Rachel Ogilvie's Mullis Soft Tail getting the same front suspension on it as Chenier is on his, seems to be the way to go these days, and others are waiting in line. B&W is going to be a busy spot this winter and if you where thinking of getting some work done, but get signed up.
*If the rumor mill is correct, and we have pretty good sources, Mike Reynolds is the new owner of the 71 Vega that Claude Ruel campaigned on a limited basis's the last few years. We do know that it has gone down the road and from good sources not very far as Mike Reynolds is a semi, Semi Pro Regular at Luskville Dragway. Mike is someone who has always been able to win, and this new ride will make him even tougher as it is a great car for that class.
*You will notice in a write up at the bottom of this page, that we have started to take entree's into the Bracket Bonanza High Roller Events that will take place on Friday Afternoon, and Friday Evening of this years $20,000. to win 35th Anniversary Bracket Bonanza. The $250. to enter High Roller Door Car race will take place at 2 pm in the afternoon of Friday July 29th too be followed that evening with the $500. to enter Big Dog Shootout taking place that evening. This will give the door car folks an opportunity to race, get it over and maybe just decide to give the Big Dog Shoot out a Shot. There will once again be a Ogilvie Auto & Fleet Jr. Dragster High Roller event as well.
*Some things that we are working on is also a separate five race points series within a series that would  be attractive to some of our newly made friends from up North who have started to visit Luskville Dragway on a more regular basis'. We would be looking at 5 or 6 events which would include only long weekend races at Luskville Dragway and maybe one other. The first race would be the Malcolm Carpentry/Precision Concrete Finishing Event May 20-21-22, We need to here from some of our Northern Friends to see if this is something they might be interested in. The potential dates would be May2-4 weekend, Elliot Lake, Bracket Bonanza, Fall Bracket Nationals and Octoberfast Spooktacular. This is over and above the Napa Tour ,What do you think.
*Starting to here from some of the race teams on what is shaking around their shops, and we start off with the Jim Barry owned Julie Dube driven Roadster Team who had a pretty good season in 2015. Jim says the team will return in 2016 with a newly freshened drive train that Jim will take care of at his Arnprior, Ontario shop. They are also looking at maybe changing up the graphics on the car just to be a little different, nothing too drastic but something new. The team had a couple of big wins last season and went deep in the rounds on many race days, one has too believe they would have finished well in the Napa Auto Parts Points standings had they signed up. Jim and Julie and the Roadster are one of the more popular cars at the track with their wild wheel stands and powerful runs each and every pass, Jim says he is already anxious to get back too the track.
NAPA AUTO PARTS COMMITTS TO 2016 WITH LUSKVILLE DRAGWAY AND THE TOUR: DEC 01/2015
Yes the banquet was a great time, but there was also some great news coming out of the Banquet as well, we are extremely pleased to announce that Napa Auto Parts as committed to return as a Major Advertiser both at Luskville Dragway as well as the Napa Tour. As one season comes to a close and another one sits just around the corner, having the advertisers commit and do so, so early gives all of us a great feeling about the summer that lies ahead. Napa for the last six seasons has been one of the many great things to happen to Luskville Dragway, and their return gives us the platform to build on. We are very lucky to have as many Napa associates that we do who are also part of Luskville Dragway, Napa Auto Pro, Napa Auto Care, and Napa Auto Parts Stores all play a part and no one more so than the Universal Group out of Kingston and owned by Keith Graham. Universal over the last few years has grown in leaps and bounds and currently owns most of the Napa Auto Parts Stores in our area, other than those owned by head office. Napa Auto Parts is of course no stranger to Drag Racing, and for that fact Motorsports in General but significantly drag racing for sure. From the Don Schumacher owned Nitro Funny Car, to many, many sportsman racers, no Logo, colors or name is more prevalent in Drag Racing than Napa. Their support for Luskville Dragway will come in many ways including the continuation of the Score Boards, The Super Pro Points Series, and the Napa Auto Parts Jet Car Show in June at Luskville Dragway. Their support will also allow the continuation of the oldest, richest bracket series in the country the Napa Auto Parts "Show Me the Money Tour" which will see dates in Elliot Lake, Luskville, Wawa and Mirabel as of now. Once again like for the past six years Luskville Dragway will hold a Napa Customer Appreciation weekend at the track where Napa Auto Parts Stores will be inviting quests, and customers to spend a day or a weekend at Luskville Dragway for some NHRA Drag Racing including a feature attraction, World Record Holder Jet Dragster the Terminator. The Napa Auto Parts Spring Jet Car Show will be held on June 10-11-12 and will feature two big days of Napa Drag Racing, A Cruise Night, and the Terminator Jet Dragster Show. Tickets will be available at all Napa Auto Parts Stores as well as many Napa Auto Pro Shops, and Napa Auto Care Centers. We can not thank Napa Auto Parts and all those responsible for making this happen enough, for  2016 THANK YOU  from the staff, man agent and Racers of Luskville Dragway and the tour.
BUSTERS BAR BIG DOG SHOOTOUT GETS SOME EARLIER ENTREE'S: DEC. 1/15
Some of the very best Super Pro Drag Racers anywhere in Canada will lead the way with their names entered into the 2016 Busters Big Dog Shootout scheduled for July 29th. 2016. This first group of drivers will certainly be joined by what we believe too be the biggest and richest High Roller race of all time at Luskville Dragway. This group of drivers will also represent both Canada and the USA and are all drivers who have previously won the event over the past decade. We all firmly believe that this years race will be one of the largest Super Pro Entree lists of all time, and the $20,000. to win Super Pro on the Sunday of the event will have a lot too do with that. But before we get too Sunday there will be plenty of money to be won, starting with the Busters Big Dog Shootout on Friday Night. We are going to release the names as they come in but also in a fashion that highlights former winners of this event which we firmly believe will see all former winners being a part of. Back in 2009 when the program began we ran the door cars and the dragsters all together, and it was a door car that came out on top winning the first ever High Roller Race. Yes Ralph Coe not only lead the way back in 2009  when met and defeated Jamie Tupper in the finals of the first ever High Roller Race, but he also leads the way in 2016 with the first entree into this years Big Dog Shootout. The second entree is also the second winner of the event as 2010 winner Troy Davis will become the first dragster to enter the fray this upcoming season with his American Chrome Worx car, which is not the car he won back in 2010 with but is a winning car. Davis who will be coming off a outstanding 2015 which saw him win one of the biggest and best paying race day events ever, with his win on Sat. and runner up on Sunday at the New York State Championships the weekend before last years BB. Back in 2010 Troy was driving his first dragster after jumping out of the Corvette Roadster, a Racetech car that still calls Luskville home, and in the finals it was local racer Tom Orr in another dragster who made the second place spot. The next person to Join the parade is also not driving the car these days that he won with back in 2011, Russ Adams took his fairly new at the time American Dragster to the finals where he beat José Mongeon for one of Russ's biggest pay days ever. The American that Russ won with was a car that he "Won" by buying a ticket on it, in a draw while racing at another race down south, that car these days is run by Jay Beaulieu of Quebec City who has done his fare share of winning already with it. The fourth and last spot this week goes to our first American Racer to win the Bracket Bonanza High Roller Race, Frank Mark Sr. of New Jersey. Now although Frank has only won the high roller race once, the same cannot be said about winning the Big Buck Saturday and Sunday Events, as Frank is the all time winningest driver of the Bracket Bonanza winning more of the events than anyone. Mark brings a certain amount of excitement to the event as well, as there is no doubt there is a friendly Can-Am competition each and every year stemmed by Frank and others that have helped make the Bonanza what it is, THE BEST BRACKET RACE IN CANANA. This is only four of what we believe will be many in fact we already have other commitments that we will release next week as we head towards what we believe will be a Record Setting 35th Annual Bracket Bonanza.

NHRA UPDATES LICENSE PROCEDURES, MAKES IT MORE APPEALING FOR ALL : Dec 01/2015
To increase sportsman racer participation and support member tracks, NHRA will streamline its competition license program effective Jan. 1, 2016.
Updates will include three new classifications: Professional, Pro/Sportsman and Sportsman. Certain levels of competitors in the new Pro/Sportsman and Sportsman categories can obtain a license without a medical exam and will have a lower fee to boost entry level participation. Licensed racers at this level also will enjoy a simplified online renewal process.
In addition, all NHRA competition licenses will now incorporate NHRA membership benefits, including catastrophic medical insurance in effect at any NHRA member track or NHRA sanctioned event.  Existing license and membership expirations will be merged into a single expiration for current licensed competitors as they are renewed.
“This revised licensing process will make it easier than ever for those who want to race competitively in one of NHRA’s national touring series or as an ET racer at their local NHRA member track,” said Peter Clifford, NHRA president. “The process will become less complicated and more streamlined for all involved. We are looking forward to increased competitor participation across the board, and especially at the grassroots sportsman ET level, through this updated licensing policy.”
